Believe it or not, I used to put quarters into this.  I got a lot of play out of my quarter, so maybe that's why.

Shouldn't it be 140? I think Berzerk was 139. As for the game itself, I suck. Haven't been able to finish the first race yet.

Good catch, Epetti.   :)

Chelnov was #138 and Berzerk was #139.

Comtek's comp thead OP here accidently mis-numbered Chelnov #139 and Berzerk #140.

EDIT: All fixed.  Thanks, guys.

Thanks, fixed the numbering.

There are shortcuts that allow you to get ahead, and when you get used to the slight delay of the controls and how to navigate the paths you can avoid lots of things on the ground that slow you down.  Also, use the jump button a lot, esp. when the trees throw their apples at you and when entering water.

I'll exercise the old: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

I say, "34,400".

-Jason

PS--BTW, my settings menu shows Difficulty 3, which I presume is default.

Wow, such hate  :lol

No one finds this game charming?  I suppose it can get  a little frustrating, but I don't think it's unfair.

I went through the f2 service check screens too to see if I was on difficulty '3' as well.  I guess that is the default, because yes.

Improved a bit -- but each game takes longer to get through so don't get much chance to improve unless you spend quite a bit of time playing.

New personal best score (still a ways to go to catch popsicle) -- 310,500

LOL -- yeah it can get pretty frustrating when you get caught by one of the traps and it will not let you go anywhere ! ( I would have had several 100K+ scores in the log but kept hitting the esc key when I suddenly dropped from 1st to 7th place because one of those whirlwinds or Ogres would pin me down letting everything else pass by a few feet from the finish.)

Yep, 2nd through 7th place being in perfect unison aching for you to get trapped kills this game.

File this one under "rare for a reason."

bASTARD!

Back to the front.

And I think the 2nd to 7th place unison thing is what keeps you trying.  If you were left in the dust from the start it would be defeating.  At least there is the glimmer of hope of getting 3rd and getting to play the next race.

After a few fist pounding hate fueled rage quits, I got my kids watching and rooting me on.  Then, I got into a groove.

What I've learned:

1. Avoid tornadoes and the wizards that make you small at ANY COST, because they can juggle hit you over and over.
2. Hesitating for a split second when lightning strikes or apples are thrown can make all the difference.
3. Use hands always, and holes never.
4. Diagonal jumping is useful.

  Figured you'd be back with a better score but 824K !! -- know what you mean on the rage quits -- esp when you get to 300k + and almost finish another wave only to have something stop you and get you 4th place !

Guess I'll have to get back to practicing.

I believe so -- unless someone sneaks in with a better score before midnight and drops me to 3rd ! Guess I need to start looking through some games to find one. (gave it a few more tries but couldn't do any better than the 500K so think your first place is secure !)

OK -- New competition thread posted Here ( http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,139400.0.html )

Figured in the tradition of games that tend to get you to rage quit and since it is getting hard to find a selection that has not already been chosen. The new competition is a game I spent many a quarter on that may\may not be familiar to many of you that I had forgotten about until stumbling on it in search of a game selection -- " Moon Cresta"

Hope you all enjoy and participate in the competition
