- Last day is Monday October 22nd (11:59:59pm Pacific Daylight Time), 2012.

General Rules:

- Highest score wins.

- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.

- MAME INP recordings are encouraged but optional.

- A screenshot is required to enter a score (press F12 to save screenshot showing your final score) or take a photo of the game screen.

- If you're a MARP competitor on this title, keep in mind this is just a friendly competition among forum members, so maybe you shouldn't enter. However, if you're a forum member and this is a game you're good at and nobody knows about it, this is your time to shine!

- Even if you don't have a competitive score or if you don't *think* that you have a competitive score, please post it anyway to keep the thread fun & to give everybody a good sense of score ranges.

- Please make sure your scores are from games that take place during the competition period (no posting your best score from last year, etc.).

- Use of autofire or other non-standard hacks within MAME or your PC's OS are not allowed.  No program or other person or entity of any sort may manipulate your controls during your game.  Coaching & back-seat driving is fine as long as the party doesn't directly influence the game or controls.

- If you can beat any of the high scores from the previous competitions, you can submit your score to the BYOAC High Game Scoreboard.

Good luck!

Starting score.  Been years since I sat down to play this one but, like pacman, if you can play it you generally do ok :)
Using latest MAME 0.147u1:

94,900

Tips: Score big points early by grouping 3+ robots together to maximize super dot/shot usage.  I always try to hold 2 Super Dots at a time, because you can have one just in case of sneak attack after shooting.

WOW!   Never even heard of this game.   One of my new favorites.   That's why I love these high score competitions.

I haven't played this in a while - a game I found several years ago, and thought was way cute - but I think I got my best score ever. I forgot you can hold more than one shot pellet. I would've done better, but lost some shots off the gird. (As well as got caught going the wrong direction. I blame my stick; this game is like a sixteenth turn.) What's way funny is that if you shoot toward the back, it'll go all the way off the screen, isomorphically as the game is layed out.

After I posted my previous score I attempted to complete the first board by killing all the robonoids.   I was able to do this a couple of times but this strategy didn't seem to work.   Switched back to clearing boards and got this.   It seems like once it knows you are our of shots the robonoids get more aggressive.

Yeah, not better than Kixfans score, but here's mine to add to the bunch. Have to try again later this week. This game really rocks!! I can only imagine the sessions with friends playing this!

Upping the ante...

142,600

On the early rounds it is pretty easy to get the robonoids to follow you closely and then go over a gate causing them to fall.

Nice score :). I actually had it happen to me, that when one of the Robotron was really close to me and I went over a gate, it followed me over, instead of droppin :D

I didn't know they could fall off.

Mmmm, between that and them falling, it must be a close timing thing.

I'm getting seriously torked. Every time I get a chance to shoot a ---fudgesicle--- load of them, my stick sucks a dick.

Yeah, if we take this case in to account, it would seem that they can also be too close, since every other time I've had them right at my back, they've fallen off :). Might have been a bug as well.

No no, it was intended, because you get points for it. 500 for one, maybe the same multiples as shooting them, but much harder to get, which isn't worth the trouble.
