- Highest score wins.
- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.
- MAME INP recordings are encouraged but optional.
- A screenshot is required to enter a score (press F12 to save screenshot showing your final score) or take a photo of the game screen.
- If you're a MARP competitor on this title, keep in mind this is just a friendly competition among forum members, so maybe you shouldn't enter. However, if you're a forum member and this is a game you're good at and nobody knows about it, this is your time to shine!

Good luck!

This game was on my possible selection list.   Much better than Knuckle Joe!   ;)

I remember playing this on a regular basis somewhere in my childhood but can't recall where.

Very first attempt, 47,350

Played this a fair bit on the C64, never tried the arcade version though.
Might actually have a chance at finishing it now...
Never argue with an idiot, he'll just drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I had it for c64, though it was under the name Rush 'N' Attack. SO HARD. I will give this one a shot though.

You made a slight mistake while typing, let me correct it...

This game was on my possible selection list.   Much better than Knuckle Joe! Lost Tomb   ;)

There is a new "kid" to smack around ;) [that statement does not represent my attitude towards children!!]

I had it for c64, though it was under the name Rush 'N' Attack.

That's how it's known in "states". I know it as Green Beret and it also a parent rom.

58,140 - first try. Not posting a picture, I'm confident I can do better than that.

I found that if I slow down I can average about 42k on the first level.   If you take to long, it just kills your player.   Almost made it thru the 2nd level.

I may give this a run. I finally beat this game in 2007: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,61943

Will try to get a recording or screenshot if I can break 100k

When you get to the last screen on level 2, the dogs that come from the right you have to hit while crouching, dogs from the left hit while standing.

The most frustrating thing about this game are the ladders.  You have to be careful not to stop on top of a ladder else if you need to duck you end up going down the ladder (then I usually die cause I wasn't expecting to be where I am).   So far I have not found a reason to jump yet so I avoid it at all cost, I don't like the jumping either.

? I was on board 4 (my best ever) when I got my 98k score.  I'll have to slow down like you said to maximize points each level.

Third boss is flying mini-copter things you have to jump and stab.  Kind of scary.

Well then, I expect you will completely destroy my score!   ;D  There seems to be 2 methods the game uses to keep you moving.   If you stay in one area too long they will start sending a bunch of the white coat bad guys at you.   Then, I believe there is a total time for the level that the game uses and will sound an alarm with a visual message to hurry up.

Attached is my score. Didn't make it to the final boss, but was pretty close.

I got in a bad spot where I died and had to jump a landmine, kill a white coat coming down in a parachute, a bazooka guy and the normal baddies. You can jump over an enemy and what I do to give me some more time is when those 3 bad guys come from the right side of the screen, I kill 2 of them and then jump the 3rd. He finishes running across the screen before they come out again. This buys me another second or two when I need it.

I don't point press, but you do get twice as many points when you kill the bad guys with a weapon vs using your knife, so I make sure to use my weapon up. At the end of stage 1 when all the bad guys come from the truck, use your flame thrower to kill them.

70.6k after a couple of games. I used to have a Rush 'n Attack PCB--rescued it (and a Tempest & Atari XO Football parts) from rotting away in the fraternity yard across the street back in grad school. Great game. Hard. Harder than Lost Tomb.

I always liked this game, and used to play it at the local bowling alley as a kid.  I'm getting better but still can't quite get to the end of the 4th stage.  Thanks for the tip Lew, I've been saving my shots and waiting for the guys that are prone and crawling toward you or the blue gun men to use my weapon, trying to hit no less than 4 each time I shoot.  Of course using them on the artillery guys helps too.  Does blowing up the mines give you points too?

Oh, and I've found that if I save one rocket on the 3rd stage flying copter bosses I can kill the first one easily.   I run all the way to the right of the screen, face left, and jump and fire a rocket as the first copter enters the screen and starts descending.  Fighting the other two is not hard, just jump and stab away.  They can't hurt you, only their grenades.

Not really. It's Pacific not Eastern time! But probably won't matter at this time. Are you counting minutes till the end?  :(

Unless someone jumps in at the very last minute, the competition looks as follow:

leapinlew - 214,810
popsicle - 200,480
mimic - 135,420
kixfan - 105,390
jasonbar - ~70,6K <-supposedly
UFO - 28,500
