Jennifer, barrymossel, bperkins01, Ian, javeryh, Jimbo, markc74, opt2not, acvieluf, rablack97, Arroyo, Laythe, Nephasth, Drnick, JudgeRob, Le Chuck – A big thanks from me for your very generous comments. I’m really pleased you guys like what it is I’m trying to achieve.
My idea is to create an arcade machine which is fun but which also has an underlying bit of imaginative, technological, sci-fi wizzo going on, some personality in the machine if you will.
It’s a work in progress as I review and improve on video and audio content to go with the hardware, but I’m glad you guys already get where it’s going. Le Chuck is right, it’s a complete package, a combination of timing, mechanics and effects. It has to register on the NERD excitometer otherwise I’m failing in my mission.
Malenko, the relay board I’m using is a Duinotech version, probably very similar to yours. It runs directly on 12 volts and features optical isolation.
I need to put this part of RoToron aside for now and concentrate on the upper shell with some work on the control panel as well. First the upper shell.
I’m going to re-prime this component before spraying the new color yellow.
Here I’m just wet sanding with 180 grit to get a nice dull finish with good adhesion for fresh primer.
Here’s the result, dull and rough, just how I need it to be.
Next post I should have this primed and repaired. I think I’m going to need to build a jig to hold this for painting and working on.
