Okay So with all the Space Hedgehog love, I feel like I need to explain why I think Blip deserves this category...
First of all, with regards to the R Pod MK II, it is indeed flawlessly executed. Not surprising given Space Hedgehog might as well be a professional arcade builder. His attention to detail and MDF work is unrivaled. But IMO his work, while technically perfect, is almost all in the same vein. His Viewlix, and his Command Pod both use similar design elements. When I think of other master builders like LeChuck, Maximus, and Ond each of their projects has it's own dynamic flair, and to me some of that mojo is needed to beat out the other fine cabs in this category.
Now for Blip, how many times do we see MAME cabinets that are built to play many different games, with many different controls, often with more and more features added during the process... Automated panels, switching joys, rotating screens, support for more and more titles and consoles, LED controls..... So many times good intentions morph into ugly ass $3000 pieces of crap..... It is downright refreshing to see a MAME cabinet that can do as much as Blip, yet be so eloquently designed that anyone could walk right up and instantly become enthralled in BOTH it's game play and aesthetics.
Also one can't take away from Malenko, ChanceKJ, EMDB, and Yamatetsu... All of their cabs are awesome....
Wish their were enough minipin's to spin them off..... I like both, but I can't judge them against the rest of these cabs.
