Tough choice but in the end went with Grippies Sega build - Almost voted for the missile command cocktail but just couldn't vote for a missile command build that didn't have a trackball (You're not playing the game if you're using a joystick ! )

the sega bartop and the outrun were both great cabs, in the end I voted for the outrun , mostly because you dont see many (any?) bartop driving cabs  :burgerking:

The first console I ever owned was a Sega Mega Drive (Genesis), so I'll admit there was a small amount of bias in choosing Grippie's Sega Bartop. A well executed build that looks great. I really like how the artwork captures the look of the console. Simple and effective.

Well done to all  :applaud:

Jahilberts Missile Command. I love the theme, but also the execution. I think it's great that people draft 20 pages of CAD drawings before they build, but quick sketches on paper, that's my kinda way of doing things (",)

I found Outrun to be innovative based on the custom circuit (which he so graciously shared) along with the physical design. I liked almost all of them, to be honest, but JohnRTs stood out to me.

Because I am a space freak, I think I would go with DeLuSioNal29's Vigolix Invader.  Grippie's Sega Bartop 2nd but he is right there with him though because he captured the essence of the Genesis system.  That thing could of been a authentic display unit in the 90s for sure.

This is the only category I haven't voted in yet. I'm not a fan of this bartop craze that's been going on, but the Genesis bartop is most appealing visually. I'm going to have to chew on this a bit.

SEGA for sure. I loved watching that build. I was a anti-SEGA from the House of Mario growing up, so for me to like anything with the hedgehog says a lot. And that's how I voted.

Hi!

First I have to say I am super humbled to have been nominated, as the other nominees really are in a class of their own.

Personally I have voted for Grippie's Sega Bartop.

- well documented & updated project thread with lots of photos
- lots of consulting and feedback
- top notch build quality
- amazing artwork
- nostalgia value

For me, looking at the design of it, I could see this as something that could very well have been sold commercially both back in the days of the Genesis (ahem, Mega Drive) and today.

This may be just because I never had any consoles growing up, only computers (ZX81, Spectrum 48k, VZ200 etc!) and anything console related I think is awesome.
