Best thing about this is he will become a legend like Elvis and Monroe forever.

I would have liked to seen him in concert.

Oh well farewell Capt. EO.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.

I also heard he was going on his largest tour yet and had sold out 50 different shows in less then 4 minutes.

my sister had called and told me the news and said the same that even know he was a wierdo she would have still would have liked to see him in concert.

I think his new tour would have been a joke.

Michael Jackson's lawyers have revealed his funeral plans - They're going to melt him down into dolls in his image so that kids can play with him for a change...

I wonder if Farrah Fawcett is complaining in the after life because Michael Jackson is going to steal the cover of People magazine from her.

Wow, three legends drop dead in less than 3 days... I mean, Ed and Farrah both had cancer so it was expected sometime in the near future, esp with their ages, but Micheal noone could have seen.
Wonder if there will be people years from now claiming to have seen Micheal Jackson at some truck stop or just walking around with his pseudo military outfit on? Atleast we wont have to hear anything more about people spotting Elvis...

I had MJ on my death list last year, but I assumed it would have been suicide.

I'm more sad that Farrah died. She looked better at age 55 than most women in their 20's!  She had some you know whats, you could hang your hat on!

As for MJ, dont care! Now the tabloids will claim MJ isnt dead and spotted him hoeing potato's in Idaho or that 'They've uncovered the secret to his death!' or how latoya and Randy Jackson secretly bumped MJ off so they could get some tabloid time.

Just some comicly-morbid thoughts!

Will his bleached-preserved skin rot away or will it stay intact?  :dunno

Will that fake pointed nose just 'snap' off after a month or so in the hole?  :dunno

Will MJ be preserved next to Ted Williams in the meat locker with the hopes that one day they can revive him?  :dunno

Which one of the family members will get 'The Glove'?  :dunno

After they have gotten 'The Glove', how much would a pawn shop owner give for it?  :dunno

Do you think if he still had hair like this  :afro: he wouldnt have gone nuts and would still be alive today?

Dont ya think Kate Goeslin is pissed now that the attention is off her and on MJ?  :laugh2:

I hate to be mean, but if he was around my children when they were young he probably would not have made it this long.

Its truly sad to see a man go from absolute stardom to a punchline through his actions in the late 80s and 90s. I hope he can be remembered more for his music than the scandals. My generation is ruined. We weren't around to see superstar MJ. All we saw was a possible pedophile white man without a nose. All we ever heard was comedians rip the man apart.

I for one am a HUGE fan (along with anyone else alive when it came out) of Thriller. My LP of it gets regular play and will continue to do so.

I was just talking to my daughter about MJ's death. I didn't think she would care but she seemed to already know how significant the man was and had an understanding of how out-of-the-blue this is. I explained to her how blown away I am by it because of when I was her age Thriller had just come out.

I'm just trying to figure out how the hell she knows about Michael Jackson when I lost all my vinyl records 20 years ago and we don't own any of his music.

One of the best things I read on this forum is the posts of the widow of the late psik0tik. An ambitious fellow BYOAC'er who built an arcade in a travel trailer and sawed a taxi in half to make a sit-down MAME driving cab. He died in an oil industry accident of some sort (goddam NDAs). If my wife comes back here and posts news of my death to you shlubs and everyone posted accounts of how cool I was, I guess that wouldn't be so bad.

Ted Williams was a hero of two foreign wars.  Don't lump him in with Michael Jackson.   :whap

If you're talking about what happened to Williams after his death, his son did that, in an attempt to someday profit off of his father one last time.  Everyone that had standing sued to try and prevent it but John Williams had valid POA.

Sometimes, I really wonder how people think.

I just heard that the biggest on-line store in Holland is selling a MJ CD every 10 seconds now, whereas they sold 9 over the entire day yesterday.

Sometimes, it's really funny how people's brains work. I mean, his music was as brilliant as it was ever. And it's also not like it's going to disappear anytime soon, er ever....

At least this will solve MJ's financial situation.....

I'm waiting for the "MJ lives" stories, the countless books, the conspire theories (did or did not Michael have an affair with Obama ?) etc...

I'm sorry but...
I am sure his father made some big mistakes, but you cant blame everything on your parents.
It's not like MJ couldnt afford counseling or religion.

Yeah, you can say a lot of abnormal behavior can be due to his father's treatment, but so is his success.  You don't become a near-obsessive perfectionist by growing up as a normal lazy kid. And that's what usually seperates the 0.1% cream of the crop successful people from the rest of us. A real ingrained drive for perfection doesn't come from growing up "balanced".  ;)

A few more updates.

The results from the autopsy are in, and it appears that Michael Jackson actually died choking on a 9 year old weiner.

Also:

McDonald's, in memory of Michael Jackson, debuted a new burger to honor him. It contains 50 year old meat, in 13 year old buns.

RIP Michael  :afro:

The radio here (UK) suggested he died in hospital from a cardiac arrest.

I've since heard he was actually found in the childrens ward having a stroke  ;)

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Who's Ed?

Ed McMahon was mostly an American celebrity, known mostly for being the sidekick of Johnny Carson on NBC's The Tonight Show. In the 80's, he hosted the talent search program "Star Search", co-hosted "Bloopers and Practical Jokes", and was also featured in commercials for the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes.

His famous "Heeeeeeeeeere's Johnny!" from the Tonight Show is, of course, famously parodied by Jack Torrence in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.
