Arcade Repair in New England

View Profile WWW
« on: May 09, 2005, 10:02:38 AM »

Occasionally, members will have items that they no longer have a need for.  One of the nice things you can do is give the item away to another member.

Some basic rules:

1) This thread will be used *only* for posting of free items.  Discussion will not be allowed.  PM the person offering the item.  After the item is claimed, delete the message offering the item.  This way the thread won't be cluttered.

2) Asking for money for items in this thread is not allowed.  That's what the rest of the forum is for.

3) Trades aren't allowed either.  Giveaways *only*.  Trades belong in the rest of the forum.

4) Local pickups are excellent, but if an item must be shipped, the person offering the item must either ask a *reasonable* amount for shipping (ie don't ask $10.00 to ship a single button).  And of course, offering to pick up the shipping yourself is a very generous gesture.

Ok spring cleaning time again. I have three free (maybe more) cabinets in Rome, NY 13440.

  • pacman - painted over, but partially scraped.
  • karate champ - partial side art
  • kangaroo - side art intact, cabinet a little yellow, control panel included.

All cabinets are in good shape, all include coin doors. I don't have pictures of the cabinets.

FREE ARCADE VGA BREAKOUT CABLES......................

Just pay $7.00 for s/h to USA only .....

I make this cables as I find Monitros being thrown away....I clip the cables and make it usefull...

A diagram below to make one yourself.
Pins mark with * you don't use.
If Pin 9 exist on your cable, consider it *.
In order to get composite, you just need to twist 2 wires (13 & 14) and connect to your monitor SYNC.
Use a multimeter continuity to trace what cable is what. Don't go by the colors of the wires.
Connect all GND together.
The RGB should be easy to figure out.

I have a butt-load of old Maxim/FHM/Stuff mags sitting around. Some of the Maxim's date back at least 5-6 years. I can load as many as possible in a Priority Flat-Rate box @ $8.10, or I can also ship media mail.

PM if interested, or if you're seeking any specific issue.

Free cabs in Maine:

I am cleaning out again (spring cleaning).   I have MANY cabs up for grabs.

All are converted and overall in "not very nice" shape, but all are workable and any one of them could be worked into a mame cab.

Mostly they are all generic type cabs, all were designed for 19" monitors, some early Dynamo style cabs.

Please don't ask if I have any of the elusive oddball cabs, such as Burgertime, if I didn't mention it below, I don't have one up for grabs.

Some specific cabs I do have are: (remember, they were all converted to something else)

1 Tron
1 Pac-man
2 Nintendo (I think they were Donkey Kong Jr originally)
1 Track and Field
1 Defender
1 Sega Thunder Blade
1 Paperboy

Several Generic's/Early Dynamo

There may be more coming out of storage within the next few weeks, but I have no idea what.

Note:  All free cabs are essentially gutted, may or may not have coin doors, control panels, etc...

Now, I don't mean to be a grouch, but we are very very busy, and I am not in a position to take lots of pictures, list what is included with each cab, deal with shipping or answer endless questions about if I have some specific little trinket.

If you want to come and look, great! I am sure you will leave with something.

We are in the Bangor/Brewer area of Maine.

Regards,
D

I have a FREE broken/damaged NEC Multisync XV29A+ 29" (27" viewable) VGA/data monitor. I decased it since I was going to put it in a cab, but then a bunch of the wires tore off and now it's scrap. It's good for parts. No more info availible as far as repair or whatever and no support will be offered.

I am located in the San Francisco East Bay Area (Point Richmond, off of highway 580).

Yours absolutely free. Pickup only and I won't hold it. First come first served.

I have a Wells-Gardner "WG 19K4616" monitor left over, which I can give away free, as I may be moving soon.  I am in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Negatives:
It has Pac-Man/Trivia burn in, and has a slight rolling picture, that can probably be fixed by someone that knows what they are doing.  It also has no mounting rails (I cannibalized them...)

Positives:
Free(of course), it also has a brand new isolation transformer I bought and put on it, and the monitor seems to work just fine other than what is mentioned above.  I also successfully did a cap kit on it (though it didn't include all the replacement caps in my kit, including a couple large ones - this may be the source of the rolling picture?)

If nothing else you get a free brand new isolation transformer... If you're in the Pittsburgh area and want to pick this up, let me know.

** Just remembered: I also have a clear glass monitor bezel, and a "Trivia" marquee which I can also give away.  And a partially-used piece of CP-thickness plywood... trying to get rid of all the big stuff I don't need.

Free - Afterburner controller, PCB and coin door .  These items came from the standup version of the arcade machine.  These appear to be in really good shape, I am unable to test any of it though.  Free for the taking.  Must be able to pick items up from Tampa, FL.  See pics below:

PM or e-mail me if interested.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that's what they are, but I can take pictures of the stickers on them if you want.

They say:

SIEMENS
PC66-222-920
8M X 64 SDRAM

And the other says

SIEMENS
PC66-222-910
4MX64 SDRAM

Anyone need these?

I salvaged them because I hate to see stuff go in the dump.  I built new computers for my parents and grabbed these for the heck of it.

Maybe an old server or something?

Just let me know, I can send it out for about 5 bucks US Mail.  If you cover the shipping that's cool, if you don't want to I'll pay it.  Hopefully you'll cover it.

Things from an orange Popeye/DK Jr. cab:

Speaker and grill

Monitor Brackets

Plexi for over the marquee

Marquee top bracket

Marquee bottom bracket

HV box for boards

Metal cover for Power Supply on floor of cab

PROBABLY enough t-molding to do one side of a smaller cab (Taito, Nintendo, etc.).  Black, smooth, 5/8"

ALL GONE!

Stern Cabinet.... its a real stinker!  Think it was originally Astro Invader... but it is sadly so far from that now...Its been painted with hammerite type paint and has a home made glass bezel.  The coin door is pretty clunky and the rear door stinks... Oh yeah ... I peeled off the blank control panel so its all sticky now!

I don't have time or room for another project... this hulk has to go...

The cabinet still has $.50 in it! So it will pay YOU to take it!

Unfortunately if this fella doesn't find a new home he will be euthanized.  It is located at zip code 21704

Thanks

If anyone wants an Astro-Fighter CPU, I have one left over from a MAME project.  It doesn't work, but might only need a cap kit.   It has no obvious damage, but I haven't put any effort into it - it might be an easy fix, or it might be toast.  When the game was plugged in, the speakers squeaked briefly, then stopped, and nothing was displayed on the screen.  It did not react to the controls.  You can have it for the price of shipping, or absolutely free if you feel like coming to the middle of New Hampshire to get it.  The rest of the game is being used.

Landlord is busting my balls so I need to get rid of this outrun cab. It doesnt have a monitor and isnt in great shape but would be ideal for a restore/mamed cab. Plus it is the right price....Free!!! I had to store the cab outside on a pallet and I covered it with a vinyl covering. Unfortunately during the last rain storm the covering tore and the machine got wet. Somebody please come get this and give it a good home. All I ask is that you come pick it up and bring help to carry the cab.

I have tons of parts from a sega turbo sit-down style game.  All of it free for the taking, I was going to restore it but got tired of waiting for the new boards to arrive in the mail and made it a mame racing machine.  Anything you need just ask, I have most of it although I did utilize a few of the pieces for the mame cabinet.  Located in Carson, WA  a short ride from Portland, OR.  Don't really want to ship any of it, but I can if need be.  As far as I know everything did work including the monitor, the main board was fried but I still have it.  Parts maybe??
Let me know!

Moon Patrol control panel.  No CPO.  Top was hacked off my my father in law in an attempt to make it new again.  He actually did a good job with the angling, but it's like 1/2" too high.  No CP latches either.  Just the wood.  Pics on request.

Mostly a bunch of metal brackets and stuff taking up room..

80s era CRT cages- standard 19" type. no brackets, no pcbs, just cages.
sometimes metal shield. Shipping cost only. Bolts included if needed.
Don't have specifics, but one is an old G07 and one is an old Wells-Garner, if that makes a difference.
Will attempt to match requests in regards to specific models. All are 19" type. 5 available.

Also:
Corner floor brackets and wheels for Pac cabinet- requests taken for sets of these. Shipping only of course.
Original screws and bolts for said equipment optional but can be included on request.
