FYI, Barkeeper's friend is the shiznit for stainless.

The fridge that came with the house I just bought had several long lines of pretty nasty rust spots.
As a renter, I'd scrubbed it with scouring pads and steel wool (never do that).
It would look less noticeable for a short time, then the rust would come back.

After buying the place, I was more serious about fixing it so I put more effort into researching the issue.
Barkeeper's friend contains oxalic acid which neutralizes the rust and allows the stainless surface to heal itself (chromium oxidizing IIRC).
I was amazed how easily the fridge cleaned up with it.  It's been months and the rust spots have not returned.

That kit is really nice!  I think it's more for car doors, but it would make short work of the ding in the picture.

CLR is good for rust as well.  Get a plastic scouring pad or aluminum foil, soak the area in CLR and you'd be amazed how well it works.

It would be easy if I could get at it from behind.. but this is a one piece door filled with foam insulation.  The skin is not removable and you can't access the back of it.  The bulge on the front of the door from the dent warps the front, and if I push that in it will only make the dent on the side more pronounced.

I will just have to live with it.  Not a big deal, just sucks.

Here's some annoying news. I was selected for the Golden Tee Mobile beta, and was actually really excited about it. I work a lot of night shifts and what better way to pass the time! So I was supposed to get it yesterday, but never got the download instructions. After a few emails back and forth, I was told the beta was only for US residents.

This is a thread to complain , I complained about a moderator who is naffing on my chuff.

There is a difference between saying someone isn't good at what they do and attacking them on a person level, I did the former and not the latter. I know you have the final say on interpretation of the rules, but I dont feel my post warranted editing by you or anyone else.

Noted, but unless I've misread this thread, none of that was on topic for this thread, and once it started to turn unpleasant I just nuked the thread derail entirely, as I do on any other thread that turns unpleasant and is off topic, leaving the original meat of this thread intact.

If you want to complain about moderation, please do it in the forum discussion forum.

Also, I'd be just as happy if you didn't, not because I don't care about your opinions, but because I've heard them enough that additional discussion on it won't add anything. However, if you feel strongly, feel free in the appropriate forum.

I've said and I repeat that I won't close this forum down until the last visitor stops visiting, to the point where I've made arrangements with my wife if something should happen to me, but sometimes folks can make it hard to stick to my guns. Not a threat, just a lament.

Chuff is Naffed this AM because I missed out on a Vimana board by cheaping out and not offering full asking price. $300 for a Toaplan SHMUP was fair, I just got greedy.

You don't won't to buy that one anyway...  Seller "sold" it to at least 4 people on KLOV for $100, taking their money, before throwing it up on eBay for $300.

Interesting quote from an article on Amazon.com's success...

Quote
As the company has grown, Mr. Bezos has become more committed to his original ideas, viewing them in almost moral terms, those who have worked closely with him say. “My main job today: I work hard at helping to maintain the culture,” Mr. Bezos said last year at a conference run by Business Insider, a web publication in which he is an investor.

Of all of his management notions, perhaps the most distinctive is his belief that harmony is often overvalued in the workplace — that it can stifle honest critique and encourage polite praise for flawed ideas. Instead, Amazonians are instructed to “disagree and commit” (No. 13) — to rip into colleagues’ ideas, with feedback that can be blunt to the point of painful, before lining up behind a decision.

“We always want to arrive at the right answer,” said Tony Galbato, vice president for human resources, in an email statement. “It would certainly be much easier and socially cohesive to just compromise and not debate, but that may lead to the wrong decision.”

Thanks, man! I've always found a way, so I don't think this one will keep me down for long, but I think I am going to be reeling from the punch. Timing couldn't be worse with a baby coming, and I am in the middle of an evaluation period for a pending promotion that I will now never see. Almost 10 years with the company, it is just gonna be weird to see everything go down in flames. I hope the buyers are at least good to our restaurants and try to keep enough of them open.

I sort of understand the pain.  I watched my entire department (AOL tech support) get shutdown and sent to India.  I'd only been there about 8 months so didn't have a lot invested though.  Can't imagine seeing 10 years of my life swirling down the bowl like that.
