  • Delicious!

We got the little man the TMNT Secret Sewer Lair Play Set and I'm pretty sure his eyes are going to pop out of his head when we unwraps it.

that would have blown my mind when I was a kid. So cool.

I'm 99% sure I'm slapping together a 60-in-1 upright for my sister's family. They still love the little pac bartop I made them years ago and I'd love to give them something with more games (will whittle the 60-in-1 list down to 18 games). Will be using a gutted Johnny Nero Action Hero cabinet, 27" Sony Trinitron, icade, VGA to S-video adapter, and a lot of my spare parts.
Completed projects: Pac bartop (Plug & Play), 30th Anniversary Pac cab (MAME), Point Blank (PS1), Centipede (arcade hardware- light restore), VS. Super Mario Bros (arcade hardware- light restore) Tetris Cocktail (SNES), Arcade Classics upright (60-in-1, then MAME), Multi-Raiden (arcade hardware). Pac Man vs.(Gamecube),

Working on: Pinball Re-theme, Homebrew arcade arena shooter

And for scale, here's some dude.

I swear back in the day there was a TMNT playset exactly the same as that but not huge. I remember it had the telephone pole and sewer pipes and some manhatten alleyway.

Of course, when I was little, Castle Grayskull was the king of playsets.

Yeah.  That thing is larger than the original playset and Terrordrome put together.  Kids now a days.   ;D

Don't get me started on Lego's.  I loved them as a kid.  They were my go to toy.  And now they have Lego's for everything.

I got my 8yo nephew an Elenco Snap Circuits kit:

He frustrates me when it comes to the Lego.  He'll only build what's on the front of the box and absolutely will not tear anything back apart once it's built.
Might as well not be made out of lego.

A grabbed one of those snap circuit kits from Goodwill recently for my daughter, I'm a big fan. In fact I think I have learned a bit from it.

Everyone in my life is getting cheap ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- from Amazon.  They all buy whatever they want when they want it, so there's no 'need' to fill with any of them.

Of the family I see often enough to warrant buying them presents:

Wife is getting flannel pajamas and fuzzy socks.

Uncle is getting gold plated poker cards.  His tablet came back to life with a factory restore, so that's a freebie christmas miracle.

Father is getting infrared laser thermometer I'll label as an ebola detector and single barrel rum.

Stuck on mother and grandmother.  Probably high quality consumables.  I've been gathering pecans from the yard that have been fertilized with carcinogens and dog ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.

 :dunno

My niece does the same thing.  She reminds me of Will Ferrells character in the Lego movie.  I expect to visit her one day and see her super gluing all her Lego sets together with sadistic glee.

Hanging up some Christmas lights today, I forgot where I was standing and fell into my pool. The funny thing was, it felt like it was in slow motion, so I had enough time to toss my cordless nail gun before it went in with me. Thank God I didn't have my phone on me.

For my wife, I got all of our wedding photos printed. She's wanted to do that forever. I don't see why... I was there. I remember. But we did get married at the X-Mansion so the castle in the background is pretty awesome.

My nephews were coming out but cancelled. I built them each big ass speaker systems for their bedrooms from old stuff (they are big into music and obnoxiously loud gaming.) So now I have these home theatres sitting in my guitar room until january. For myself I am going to order a computer to put console games on for the living room. There's a thread started in the consoles forum about it.

Going back to playsets, I remember this one transformers one I wanted. It was expensive but I got it anyways. It was made of cardboard and didn't last an afternoon.

After a quick search I actually found the cardboard poopset in question:

Making progress on my Christmas gift 60-in-1. Trying to mount the 27" TV has been a hassle, and I still need to wire and set it all up. but Christmas isn't too close... just 5 days...  :dizzy: here's hoping all the components work when all hooked together.

That ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- is glorious.  :lol  I can only hope it's proudly displayed in your dining room.

I'm gonna go to Home Depot, find the most gaudiest, ornatiest moulding I can, paint it gold, and hang it in my game room by my desk.

Just wish I had the space to hang it next to this beauty in my game room...

Not a big fan of CriCut due to it's proprietary format and cartridge based design.  Severely limits what you can do with it.  :(

That's why we went with the Explore.  No cartridges required, reads common raster and vector image files, and can use your system fonts rather than select font packs.  Once we get it working I'll report back on the efficacy for our hobby.  If it sucks we'll return it ;)

Coolness.  I was looking at vinyl cutters last year and started with the Cricut - moved on with a quickness cause of the issues.  Glad to hear they opened things up a bit.

You can get around that with a software called Sure Cuts a Lot.  It's how I hijacked my wife's Cricut to make my vinyl stickers.

  • If you are gonna do it, do it right..
Merry Christmas all

A few weeks ago I got myself a little upgrade to my main gaming computer, a top end 256gig ssd to replace my old first gen 64g ssd, and an Acer G-Sync 27" monitor.  I also wiped and installed 8.1, which I am not sure if that is much of a gift.  It allowed me to try the Buckhunter app with my aimtracks though, but in the end even spending hours trying to dial those guns in perfectly I just couldn't reliably aim, not that it mattered because the crosshairs couldn't be removed.

Being a single dad, I have to do all the shopping for my teenage (and 21 year old) kids, along with all the stocking stuff, wrapping, etc, and I started a little over a week ago and am finally finished.  Well, my girlfriends son surprised us by getting a couple weeks off from the Army and flying up here the other day, so I still have to get some stocking stuffers for him, as well as a gift, but she is mostly handling that.  My ex wife's inability to handle money has left her homeless, so for Christmas my daughters get to move their stuff into my place and are losing their pets.  They live with me 50% of the time now but starting last night I have full custody, and they are a little torn up about their mom's situation.  It is a shame that an adult can't figure out how to live on a budget, but I guess that is why I divorced her, I didn't want her dragging me down to homelessness with her, and that was where we were headed when I finally ended it.  So there is some low points to the holidays for my girls, but I am doing what I can to make it all better, mostly in the form of some really cool gifts and some really good family time.

After today, I am off work until the 5th, and while I would love to start either a woodworking project or another cab, my back has been giving me issues that I have not yet had diagnosed, and it keeps me out of the shop, so I plan to finish the final edit on my book and get it up on Amazon.  I would love to take my kids snowmobiling for a couple days after Christmas, but between my health issues and my son's license being suspended, it just won't work out, but I will figure something out that we can do all together while we are all at home.

Have a happy holidays everyone, I hope your Christmas is merry and your new year includes a great midnight kiss!

  • If you are gonna do it, do it right..
Louvres are the metal slats in the back windows of 70's Camaros and the windows of 70's conversion vans.  I can see this painting hanging in a 70's conversion van... velvet walls and next to this a black light Jesus poster..

Edit, on second thought, this would be the mural airbrushed on the side of the 70's conversion van.. And the black light poster would be elvis, not Jesus..

A museum. In Paris, France.   I would have thought someone interested in arcade preservation would know that.  ;)

I can never remember the name of that painting.  But I always remembered that Frida Kahlo was the artist.

It's one of her self portraits.

Needs arrows and/or vaginas to truly be a Kahlo.

The Romo poster was given to my parents.  It would have been funnier if the Cowboys didn't randomly show up as the best team in the NFL this year.

Got a drill press.  Looking forward to maiming myself with that.

Present to myself should arrive soon.....

This year was pretty sweet. The little dude hasn't stopped playing with the TMNT Sewer Lair  :applaud:

We ended up getting our daughter a PSVita and Minecraft. Buuuuut we can't do anything with it for moment because "h4x0r" tools broke Xbox/PSN with DDoS. Fucktards.

My wife got me the 30th Anniversary Lego Ghostbusters set 508 pieces. :lol Completely unexpected. Sometime this weekend, I'm going to get ---smurfy--- and drunk-build the hell out that thing.

Shoot lots of pics. And vids!

I just finished installing the Kenwood car stereo I got my wife for Xmas. After 2 blown fuses and a lot of trial and error (the wiring harness directions were useless), I got it going.

My wife and I finally went out and bought a truck for Christmas. 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. We are both super excited, I've had my 4-wheeler for over 4 years and only used it 3 times because we didn't have anything to haul it. Now we can go whenever!!!
