Coloring arcade buttons

Here's my situation:

I'm aware of how simple it is to switch out buttons, however in order to do so I'd have to disassemble my entire cabinet (it's how the machine was assembled)

So my question is, is there any type of marker or so that I could effectively color the arcade buttons that won't easily wear off, or damage them?

The reason why I want to to begin with is, both the panel and buttons are black, and it's hard to see the buttons as a result.

I think whatever you use its likely to wear off with acidic fingers hammering them.

You are best off changing them.
Can you not disassemble the CP from the bottom?

Or remove it from the main cab to work on?

They are usually bolted through.

If you were starting with white buttons, I would recommend Rit Dye.

Since you're starting with black buttons, consider replacing them or getting custom vinyl decals from SlammedNiss or hand-painting a halo on the control panel around the button bezels.

Add vinyl "dots" to the pushbutton tops.

how about putting a strip of led lights under that cover (TOP CRT door) directly above the buttons and you choose a color you  like of have it strobe

Do you really need to SEE buttons? How many times do you look down at your buttons while playing?? 

Once I start a game, there is no reason to look at the buttons.
