Helping out a charity
« on: July 10, 2015, 01:31:33 pm »
Hope this is in the right section.

My bosses son has Fanconi Anemia and is a make a wish kid. I'd like to surprise him and his kid by making him an XBOX1 fight stick.  Normally I'd just fund this myself, but as some of you know I just got hit with a $15,000 bill from the hospital from my wife's stay, so money is a little tight on my end.

I'd really like to make him a fight stick, and if there are enough donations , I'd make more sticks to donate to the cause or raffle off where 100% of the money would go to http://fanconi.org
This is a legit charity and if need be I can supply you with a 501C3 tax exemption form so that donations can be applied to your tax return.

I'm looking for parts, not cash (but hey, any cash will be used to buy any remaining parts and the balance donated to the charity). I'll be designing some art for the sticks as well. Services like hacking a XB1 controller and even printing services would be greatly appreciated.

If you give me the sizes/templates I'll cut all the panels you need in MDF for up to say 5 sticks and send them to you.

Or if you're looking for melamine (no painting) I'll donate a fight stick kit & the T-molding, just tell me the layout you want.

Thanks guys, was hoping I had more support than this. I'll just take some more art gigs to fund it, Mikey is a good kid.

wow that'd be awesome. I'll see if anyone else has any spare parts sitting around before committing money to this. I have the art pretty much done (He's a NY Giants fan) and I'm going to pay to get it printed. I have plenty of buttons just need to find a GOOD stick and an xbox1 controller for Haruman to hack and I should be golden.

I'm sure I have a good stick I can toss in the mail, I'll look at home and see what I can put together.

That would be awesome sauce!  If the first stick goes over well and the guy who runs the charity wants more, I'll hit you up for extra MDF cut outs
