Depends on the type of cut you want to do. If you are ripping a straight line, you want a thicker bit and anywhere from 8-16 tpi. MDF is pretty soft, so you don't need something super aggressive to cut fast. If you are scrolling tight radii, you want a good scrolling bit, and probably around 20 tpi. Again, even a 20 tpi will cut fast through 3/4" mdf.
I use a bosche jigsaw and the t-shank bits. I found that the thicker (wider, not deeper) blades make all the difference in the world when it comes to blade drift, but usually the thicker blades are also wider and not made for scrolling, so anything more than a slight curve and you are only grinding the blade against the guides and risking some major drift.
