Bonnie's Pink Box Part 2: The TOUCHING Return
« on: March 06, 2013, 10:47:49 pm »
here's the old one, never finished:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,97510.msg1028632.html

I think this *MIGHT* be the first ever WeeTOUCHcade, its definitely the best named weecade style cab IMO
So I basically tossed the old cab, The nemiah 1Ghz was too crummy to run anything worth running, and no controls made it touch only, which kinda sucked.  Fast forward what... 2 and a half years? Haruman starts slinging weecade style kits (He's now selling version 2.0 kits, tell him I sent you http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,130522.0.html ) I got a version 1.0 cab and went to town. This is over the course of about 3 months. Keep in mind my crummy iPhone cant really capture the pink color very well, so Im gonna borrow a real digital camera and take some more pix. Tmolding is the only thing left to put on it.

Here are the pix: (videos at the bottom)

Here are some  "mostly done" pix, mostly showing the guts. Core2Duo and an Nvidia 6800 GT. Power supply had its casing half removed to make it fit. The reason it went from a "street fighter" layout to a jamma 3 button layout is because my fiancee didnt want 6 buttons, shes more of a PuzzleBobble kinda girl, not a Chun Li user, lol

Home printed art, you can see the space in the 2 pieces of paper, heh:

Kinkos printed art, camera doesnt capture the pinkness very well:

Heres pretty much what it looks like now, Blue stick has been replaced by a pink one. Shiney pink ball top will be ordered, and a custom washer is on the way:

Touching Bonnie's Pink Box:

Using the stick with the Pink Box:

Note, videos arent playing on the MaLa FE because I dont have the lastest build and the MaLa website hasnt worked for me in months.

Great job Malenko.
Where are you getting the custom washer from? Also I like that monitor you got in there.  ;D

Nice Job, are you going with t-molding or just rounded off edges?

That monitor looks the same as the spare touchscreen I have downstairs. Do you know the make/model?  How's it working out for you?  Any streaking or ghosting when playing fast paced games.  I can't figure out at the moment whether to build another bartop and put the touchscreen in, build a full sized cabinet with 21" 4:3 screen or build a wall mounted jukebox.

Same monitor as the first pink box, but I did take the bezel from the one you sent me :)  Custom dust washer is coming from Ryglore, his shmup ( http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,95293.0.html ) cab looks so great with the blue ones I had to see if he'd make me a pink one, and he did. That's what I love about this community, we help each other out.  I still need to bug  Nephasth about maybe making me some pink LED lighting for the stick and buttons.......

I should get new better pictures up tonight or at least by this weekend.  Its a neat little box, I might make another one for me, but in a different color :)

Also look here for your pink dust washers....they have cool colors that even go with your color scheme

http://tefightstands.storenvy.com/collections/108081-non-shaft-cover-size

To take it even further look at griffs lighted dustwashers in pink...along with pink balltop

Awesome, I'm glad you were able to get a Pink balltop for that stick. I like where this project is going! Glad to be of help on the dustwasher! (I just hope we got the center hole size correct).

Awesome build... :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

The plexiglass screws into the monitor bezel, the bottom of the plexi sits flush with the top of the control panel. 3 lathing screws hold the metal L brackets into the control panel. The plexi from the monitor sits on top of the screws so it looks nice. If you push on the bottom of the plexi it will flex and look goofy.  Control panel is attached to the body of the machine with industrial velcro.

Thats cool, but the mouse cursor that follows your finger in the first video is distracting.... try and replace it with a fully transparent cursor.

some games that she plays kind of require the cursor (hidden object games), but I plan to replace it with a smaller one. If I have time tonight I plan to get the tmolding on it , this is a version 1.0 cab so it has the tmolding gap a little too wide, so installing it will require hot glue.

Its because of my iPhone it looks purple, it just cant seem to take a picture of the pink very well. The art is purple base with a ton of pink highlights, the sides are bright pink with a sparkly glitter finish (like a girly bass boat, lol) I found my samsung camera but Im holding off on new pix till I get the front end finished or till the clear pink ball top gets here.

That good old Iphone Camera problem. I know that very well :) Even with HDR and everything you still get very dull and often grainy shot.  We wait in anticipation of some proper camera shots showing off the pink in all its glory.
