Any of you Canucks have a line on a Boler Travel Trailer?  I know someone who would pay good $$$ for one.
My brother has one of those. They're pretty bad-ass, and very easy to modify the insides. I asked him if he would ever sell it, which he quickly responded "Hell no numb-nuts. I love this baby and ain't never getting rid of it!". So I guess that's that.

Yeah, they're even harder to find here in the Southwest.

Ok here goes.

I'm having knee surgery soon, but have to stay on crutches until my MRI next months. Not fun trying to work on assembly with those damn things always in the way.

That anti chuff enough for ya?

Huh never heard of those...cool but really small. Look at that there is one on CL  for $6K.

Too bad I would need at least 20 ft. 10 ft and 400 lbs would look pretty silly behind my big truck.

I heard that. One of my friends bought a brand new 2012 4-door Jeep wrangler. I'll spare you the details and skip to the spoiler...it has so many fundamental problems with it that the dealership just gave him a new 2014 after a year of having that thing in and out of the shop.

I've never heard of a dealer doing that before.

Also, I live in Colorado and Jeeps are damned near everywhere. Everyone thinks they need one to drive in the mountains.
If you can read this, it means Photobucket's money grab ruined my signature photos.

On my trek to Zapcon, I drove I-70 up and over in my Corolla during a crazy snow storm. Only saw 2 types of vehicles make it to the top: Subarus and Pickups. Feel pretty lucky making it over in my go-cart.

Jeeps suck. As a matter of fact, all Mopars suck. Cheapest hunks of junk I've ever worked on.

Just to throw this in, while I agree that trolling in general doesn't belong, this IS the "off topic" section (or at least that is how I always took it), AND this is a thread about the negative issues going on this summer.  Modding posts that refer to posts that were modded and complaining about it would seem to be a good fit here.  But who cares, usually if something gets modded that I wrote it's because I shouldn't have posted it to begin with, lol.  So I say let the mods do whatever they want, but that's just my opinion.  It isn't my forum.

That being said, my "anti-chuff" for the week is... weak, but I went to the doc yesterday suspecting a sinus/ear infection and sure enough I have one, so I get the pleasure of a round of prednisone and antibiotics.  Had 3 headaches that stemmed from this and turned into migraines in the last 2 weeks, the first had me vomiting for several hours so badly that my face was dark red the next day and hundreds of capillaries had popped on my face, leaving little red dots all over for several days.  I have suffered headaches all my life and only had a dozen or so migraines, and while I get nauseous from them this was the first that ever made me throw up.  Stuff like this just sucks.  Since I got meds and should feel better in a few days, it's not too anti-chufftastic, but it's the best (worst) I got, aside from Microsoft screwing over every IT admin in the world, which is about to push me over the edge. @#$!$%#!#$%  :banghead:

Carry on

There was a recent stir about this on the internet, listing the jeeps they are replacing for free.

In other Mopar news, the newer jeeps were hacked, allowing the hacker to remotely change the speed of the cruise control as well as mess with the heater/ac/radio/instruments.  It turns out it was a hacker that complained to Jeep about the vulnerability and was ignored, so he did it and published proof that he could do it.  Recalls are coming.

We looked pretty seriously into getting one about 10 years ago but the ratings, price, fuel efficiency, and endless horror stories spooked us into keeping the Miata awhile longer.  Something about Missouri really seemed to beat the hell out of cars and I've never seen so many broken down on the side of the road.  Three times as many Jeep and Chrysler products out there stranded as anything else.  Then it came out that the damn computer systems were shutting them off at highway speed and that was the end of that shopping adventure.

Which was very strange and sad as we had grown up around unkillable 70s and 80s Jeeps in the Caribbean.  I guess you can limp them along forever if you never go over 35mph.

Those were AMC Jeeps. Built to a different standard than Mopar. But I hate that short ass wheelbase regardless...

You too?  I had been doing good this summer since my meds were stabilized, but my headaches are starting to come back.  Not as bad as you are talking about thankfully, but it's still pretty bad.  It keeps me from sleeping and makes it hard to concentrate more than anything else.

I ordered some vinyl to fix my dashboard and I went through the process of removing the cracked plastic to expose the foam padding like everyone did on the Camaro forums.... except my foam is so rotten it turns to dust in my hand..... so now I've got to figure out how to build it back up so the vinyl has something to lay on.  Tried memory foam... too soft.  I'm on to cardboard now and it isn't looking great.

Thankfully my usual headaches have always been manageable.. plus I just got used to them enough to just ignore the little ones.  The bigger ones usually just mean some ibuprofen and maybe going somewhere cool and dark for a while.  Unfortunately my back has kept me from getting more than a few good nights sleep in the past year.  Last night I think I woke up at least 20 times, probably more, to change positions.  If I take some ibuprofen I can go the first few hours without waking up, but after that I make it maybe 20 minutes before I have to move again.  Sometimes I take Nyquil just to sleep through the night, but I pay for it the next day.  By the end of a day at work sitting at a desk, I can only go 2-3 hours in front of the computer at home, so my writing has suffered too.  Sitting down on the couch doesn't help much, but then standing and moving doesn't either, lol.  So I just live with it.  Gonna try doing the medial branch block with nerve ablation on the left side at the end of this month.  Had the right done but it only lasted about 2 weeks (not the 6-18 months it's supposed to last).  This stuff is all a crap shoot anyway.  I'm actually hoping the prednisone I am on will alleviate some pain and allow me a couple good nights of rest before getting worse again.  Oh well, if I'm lucky I'll get to deal with this for forty more years, lol.  At least I can type again without too much pain.

Wow, I guess I did have a little more anti-chuff in me :)

Oh, and on the foam, If you want it somewhat soft try the high density stuff upholsterers use to shape lumbars and bolsters in seats.  you can shape it with electric knives, files, rasps, and even sanding blocks.  If you just want it barely spongy maybe do spray foam and then shape it after it is completely hardened.  The stuff in the can might be too porous to get a good wrap on it though.  When I used to make  panels for car audio, we'd use anything from wood covered in straight vinyl, wood with 1/4 or 1/2" high density foam over it then wrapped in vinyl, spray foam trimmed down and wrapped, wood skeletons wrapped in stretch cloth (speaker grill cloth, fleece, or even jersey fabric) and fiberglass resined then filled with bondo, or even just wood with angelhair bondo filler to shape it before wrapping it in vinyl.  I think those old dash panels were injected high density foam that was put in a mold then wrapped in vinyl, but the foam they used is higher density than the stuff they sell in the can at the hardware store.  Still, that stuff does work and if you get any big voids you can always touch it up with more foam, it's just messy and takes overnight to harden up.  You can always get some quarter inch high density foam at a fabric store and wrap it before the vinyl to cover up the smaller air pockets and still get a smooth wrap with the vinyl... Any way you do it you have to have some decent sculpting skills to get it to look uniform.

Speaking of chuff, just gave a presentation at work in front of a big customer and NAILED it.  I've been sweating it for weeks now.

Yeah - you've got quite the collection. Some people might appreciate that I just pulled your part of the thread instead of bouncing your butt out of here for the language used. I don't think it's a terrible burden to ask you to mind your language on what is supposed to be a family friend forum and not work around the profanity filter. It's even a posted rule.

Go ahead and explain why I'm wrong and a horrible censoring 1st amendment hater here now.

Can we get a mod to move all the anti-chuff related posts moved over to the appropriate thread? That'd be great. Thanks.

Sound like work.  That's harshing my chuff.

Speaking of chuff, just gave a presentation at work in front of a big customer and NAILED it.  I've been sweating it for weeks now.

Nailed the customer or the presentation?

And she does.... I have got no idea what a chuff is, But I do know overmodding is a form of censorship, and explains the nosedive in creative content here at the BYOAC. The people complaining are the users of this site and to bounce them out to the parking lot only compounds the problem. This really surprises me about you Saint, someone who once believed in freedoms of expression. Before you get all "family orientated" and numbers are up on me, take a cold hard look at the creativity and sharing amongst todays users as compared to days of old.... Whats changed in the last few years?

Chuff - To make noisy puffing sounds, as of a steam locomotive.  But in this instance I guess the best synonym would be "excitedness"

Over moderated is a bold statement. I think in this particular instance, I was moderated without a good reason but that doesn't make it the norm. More often than not when I am moderated (especially by Saint) I deserve it.  Saint is a good moderator. Haruman is a good moderator. Even though BadMouth thinks Im a piece of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, he's still a good moderator of the racing section. I dont really have an opinion on delusional. The end.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

We will have to respectfully disagree. I haven't bounced anyone to the curb for content posting other than the very rare exception (for instance, DriverMan).

Oh, I think the answer to that is rather obvious.  The audience interested in this hobby primarily consists of people born in a very defined range, that I'd peg as 1970-1990 with a smattering of exceptions on either end of that.  There's nobody new beating down the gates and everyone here has already done everything.  JAMMA beater into a MAME cab?  Found your holy grail?  Restored a dedicated machine?  Flirted with pinball?  Bartops? Pedestals?  We've all done it already.  Now you can just throw money at someone to CNC them for you, so you don't even need a saw anymore.

Have been kind of surprised that the driving and dance machines never really got big around here, but console and PC gaming were so far along that the home versions can easily be superior for anyone interested.  Maybe with Golden Tee finally emulated we'll see some more action there, and I think it's a matter of time before all of us mess around with an active marquee.
