Isn't there any options in those virtual pinball programs so that you could pre-render a lot of stuff? What are the absolute minimum requirements if you turn everything down/off and with a table resolution of 800x480? Any chance of running that on a dual-core Atom with GMA950, or at the most, 9400M?
Hi,
I have a dual core Atom mobo with GMA950(d45gclf2).Visual pinball 8.1 works fairly well with it.Older tables runs flawlessly, but new tables can be a problem. When there is only one ball on the playfield, there is no problem, but at multiball it starts to lag. Visual pinball 9.04 will NOT run on this board only in sw mode (no hw rendering).
I suggest you to get one of those ion boards (with integrated 9400M).I'm not sure how it will handle hw rendering tough.Only VP9 uses hw rendering, the older VP8 uses sw rendering, so cpu power is a must to run every table.
I now have a geforce 9500 card with intel 6300 Dualcore on Asus P5QPL-AM(micro atx mobo) in my cab, and VP9 works perfectly with all tables, it can be a 4 ball multiball - no problem.
Future pinball didn't run on the d45gclf2 at all - needs hw rendering. With my new config FP runs perfectly.
