jpac problem - about to give up
« on: March 10, 2002, 01:05:15 pm »
hi all, finally got around to trying to hook everything up. i am running arcadeOS with the monitor option set to "1" for an arcade screen. switching that back to "0" makes everything run perfectly on my PC.

when i switch it to "1" and try plugging everything into my j-pac, i can see the side by side screen boot up on my arcade screen (the bios info, etc) but then it gives me a "no keyboard attached" error. i've double checked my connections and everything is right.

any suggestions?

thanks

I'm definately no expert on this subject but have you tried pluging in the keyboard though j-pac's keyboard pass through? Maybe the computer won't run without a kb. Also what happens when you don't have the j-pac set up and are running the computer without the keyboard attached? Does the same problem come up? I don't know if this info helps but I know how frustrating (and eventually rewarding) arcade building can be.

Hope this helps!

goto your BIOS setup and select the option for HALT ON ERRORS by default its set to ALL ERRORS, set this to NO ERRORS......

hi, i tried the halt on no errors.  although the machine now boots to advancemame, not even the keyboard will operate.

i have a replacement coming from andy who has been VERY helpful and a pleasure to deal so i'm sure that will fix my problem...
