I finally got round to building my first cabinet that was going to be for sale last week. The buyer was extremely happy with it, which in turn makes me very happy

Sorry got no construction pics as my old HDD decided to go into meltdown and I lost everything.

Here's my second one, this time it has cp artwork, the first one I sold didn't have any, hopefully this one will sell for a little bit more with it.

This will probably be the last pink one I do as I got asked by most people if they came in any other colours, so I guess the old fav black and blue will be next.

hmm all my pics have vanished... I'll have to fix it later...

Yeah its a 48 in 1 board, nice and simple for people to use and less potential problems.
My last one sold for £820 ( $1600 ish), not as much as I wanted but its still a nice profit.

Is the top plexi or glass? If its glass, will any glass shop make cuts like that?

Yeah, that top is incredible. I've asked for some prices here, but I was shocked... (In the Netherands, region Rotterdam.)

The glass top is smoked, toughened and polished.
I gave them the cabinets wooden top and they used it as a template to cut the glass.
They make just three cuts to get the shape then polish it down to get a perfect match.

The price wasn't to bad either £65.00, ($130) I was very happy when I picked it up as I wasn't sure how well it would come out but I've used them twice now and each time its a perfect match to the wooden top.

I like how you have held your CPs on. I was wondering how to hold mine on and I came up with various ideas but I like yours better, I think I will do the same. Liking the cabinet 'lid stay' too, I saw them in B&Q the other day and thought they would be a good idea. I was wondering if they would be strong enough but yours looks to be doing the job, I was going to make one but I may give one of those a go.

Where did you buy your glass from by the way if you dont mind me asking? Im just getting some quotes at the moment. That seems like a good price considering the profile etc.

Its a small independent shop that's near to where I live, they don't actually do the work in shop they send it out to another company to do all the polishing and cutting.

You have to shop around for the best prices, I was quoted double what I paid in the end.

With regards to the CP's I wouldn't go down the same route I have been using as its very time consuming having to cut the middle section of the end pieces out to fit them.

My newer design has the rear section of the cp bolted to the end piece, this way should you ever need to replace it you won't end up with fatigued screw holes in both pieces.
Simple four bolt holes in both pieces and a 2" hole to feed the cp wires through.
The top of the CP will be held in place with four chrome counter sunk allan screws to keep it looking nice and clean and its easy to quickly undo those if you have to change the joystick etc.

Its laminated with "juicy pink" Formica, the cost is around £70 for a 10' x 4' sheet.

All the cabinets pieces where cut then laminated individually, its quite time consuming when you have to glue and cut each piece but that's the only way to achieve a perfect finish.

Is that a 48 in 1 board? How difficult is using that in place of a standard computer. Are you using a PC power supply and monitor with it? What type of wiring harness was used?

Yeah its a 48 in 1 board, its far easier to use, just connect a PC power supply to it and then connect it to a PC monitor and turn it on. It takes about 45 seconds to get into the games menu screen then your ready to go.
I used a standard jamma harness from jammaboards.com

Yep I used a ATX power supply, the speakers and grills are from suzo (UK HAPP)

That looks great. My only suggestion is to make the power cord come out of the bottom next time, I could see it getting yanked out where it is now.

Looks clean and professional. The only change I would make is to put it on 4 casters to elevate it an inch or so, then you could put the power outlet on the bottom so it would be out of site and also not a trip hazard.

I can't quite make it out in the pics, what is happening on thr front edge of the CP's? is that black part of the CP art of angle iron?

Sorry this reply took so long, its just that I've had "cabinet Fatigue" and have not bothered to visit here in quite some time

My latest cabinets are now made with Melamine Faced MDF so no more messy laminating
