p360 5v source

Hello,

     I have read in a few other posts that you can get 5v from the IPAC.  My rookie question to you vets is...uhhh...where?  Where do I solder/connect for the 5v?  The ground is obvious, but where is the 5v lead?  Do I just connect it to one of the unused button connections (7 and ?  

     I haven't received my p360's yet, so I haven't taken a close look at them, but I do have the IPAC.  WARNING:  I am a circuit board novice, although I did do a trackball mouse hack, so that makes me an experienced novice (is there such a thing?).

cut off a computer case LED lead (plug that goes into the motherboard) and plug it right into the I-PAC..  'Lot easier than soldering!

Another easy way to get 5 Volts:
Get a USB cable and cut off the "B" end. the red wire inside is 5 Volts, black GND. Plug in to USB port.

True, that's how I get 5v for my relay to switch my buttons from the ipac to the trackball.

A couple of ideas:

1) You can tap a cable adapter to an unused disk drive connector.   I beleive that the red and black pins offer +5V.

2) You can use a +6v power supply, and connect a diode or resistor in series with it, to drop the voltage.

3) You can see if there are 5V transformers out there.

4) You can build a circuit using a 7805 regulator, with a +12V in.
