Installing Happs 360 Joystick Question
« on: January 30, 2003, 04:00:32 pm »
Okay, I've given up on the Wico 360's and I am now planning to purchase the happs 360's.  I looked at the schematics of the joystick, and it comes with a 1/2 bushing for a wood CP and a smaller one for a metal CP.  I am using 5/8 particle board and a 1/8 sheet of plexi (3/4")  Is this bushing going to be long enough, should I use both bushings, or route out the difference for 1/2?

Anyone with experience mounting these, can you share your thoughts?  What did you do?  Thanks in advance!

i routed the bottom because i had 1/4 plexi glass over 3/4 wood but i dont think there will be any problem with height if you using 5/8 and 1/8 plexi.

good luck with p360(they are awsome).

So no routing necessary, and use the 1/2 bushing?  Sweet.  Thanks Snaaake ;D

I have 3/4" MDF with 1/8" Lexan over my CP..  I did no routing and I feel they are a perfect height.

One more thing...did you guys use the 5v from the CPU for power and ground, or CPU power and IPAC ground (if you used IPAC at all)?  Thanks again all!

I took the 5v from the IPAC itself.

The IPAC has a 5V lead?  (I need to take a closer look, I guess...someone pass me a beer!)

Get the ground from the same source as the 5v. If you get 5v off a hard drive connector get your ground there. If you get 5v from the ipac get your ground there.

The ipac gets 5v power from the keyboard port, its not much but it will handle the p360's.
