Yes it could be somebody using a download manager to repeatedly download the file and use up all the bandwidth. I have a couple of people in mind who might do this.... The same ones that i had in mind before when i had to take the site down in the first place that lead to all this.

There are still many who download v22 of arcade music box (newest version is v30, before I stopped).

This is mainly reason, can because I added my software (wich use a wrong screenshot from a config screen) that to softpedia on that time (they hotlinking to files), and then so spreads to other sites as well.

This can been a another reason, wich can't seen normally bad, and is why I have keept all versions on the server.

Well this is why i prevent hotlinking. The only sites i let hotlink the file were;

http://www.betanews.com
http://www.freeboxjukebox.com
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com
And 2 others that are private sites.

So i am at a loss where it is coming from, beta news only reports 5 downloads for this week so somewhere something is amiss.

I guess you should use 7z as compression instead of zip, since I could bring the installtion size down to around 3mb. This would help a lots of this type of traffic problem.

I use Inno Setup as my installation app (since it support 7z compression), wich is pretty easy to use, have a very good help file and have some wizard as well. It create a new installation exe with included uncompression (so the user do not need to download 7-zip).

If you want, you can so just upload the created exe (wich Im also do with Arcade Music Box).

If you want you can host the forum on one of my sites. I will give you access and you can install SMF if you want. I am going to start working on the screen shots of the skins and uploading them this weekend if I am lucky.

I cant host the forum yet, since I only can install ONE SMF Forum for all domains I use, installed on my webserver. I could even ask Micfo for a webhotel manager/panel, since they can install that. But it was not need.

The current forum is meanstrem mode in some month, since im now dosent use it yet (and even removed the link from my AMB site. I may use it for my next App (why Im diddent remove that).

If I'm did that, the forum would look more Arcade Music Box based rather than Freebox. Im are not interesed to merge these 2 applications. Other than that I would not have a problem to run a forum.

Sorry about that, but I can still host the little mainsite with a download link of course (still of course use both mirrors). I do hope he change to 7Z as I stated before, since it can bring the traffic very much down (even it not a problem now).

~~i can ask Saint/sirwoogie if they can greate a forum, here on ArcadeControls.com? I guess they should use child boards for all support boards.~~

Im in the process of contacting my host to add freeboxjukebox as another domain on my account. It supports MYSQL and PHP. Im currently hosting the public download for freeboxjukebox.

It has plenty of bandwith and space available to support what Barcrest needs. If somebody wants to run some bizzare download manager and hit the site hard we can stop that and will.

Im already looking into that solution.

However if Barcrest changes his mind between now and when it happens is fine with me. Im just trying to help and support a great app that I believe in.

Anyways just letting everybody know that Im here to help too.

Here is a nice new feature for the next release. You can make it change the skin and a few other things on set days.... I am hoping to get this release out by friday and upgrade the public version to a newer version.

So as not to create a load of new threds i have bumped this one...

You can now have songfacts displayed overlaid on your video and piped out to a BETABRITE if you have one. I am looking to upgrade the public version to 2.20 which was the last stable release of V2 once V3 comes out of the alpha/beta phase. Hopefully in a week or so. Obviously if you have donated you can get the latest V3 release from the usual place.

I go with a simular structure but i just have the folder Atrist - Album\track.mp3 either way os good as long as you have a seperate folder for each album.

Im sure you could go other routes, but I'll break it down so you can see what or why I have it that way.

E:\MP3s\F\Foo Fighters\Skin And Bones\15 - Everlong.mp3

E:\ - Drive its on
MP3 - The folder its in becuase I have other things on that drive.
F - Dealing with hundreds of albums its easiet to find things by the bands first letter
Foo Fighters - because thats the band name again easier to find what your looking for
Skin And Bones - is well name of the album

Im sure you could store things differently, but I like to make things easy to navigate on the drive. If I recall you could dump all the albums in one folder and the Tags from the mp3's would be sorted and found in Freebox, but ask me to find something in that setup and it would take forever.

J:\MP3s\Artists\F\Foo Fighters - Skin And Bones\15 - Everlong.mp3

J:\ - Drive its on

Artists - These albums are non compilation albums
F - Dealing with hundreds of albums its easiet to find things by the bands first letter
"Foo Fighters - Skin And Bones" - is the name of the artist and name of the album

For Compilations:

J:\MP3s\Compilations - Various\Various - Now 1 CD 1\Track01.mp3

J:\ - Drive its on
MP3 - The folder its in becuase I have other things on that drive.
Compilations - These albums are compilation albums
"Various - Now 1 CD 1" - is the name of the artist and name of the album

I don't sort the compilations by letter as there tend to be fewer and i have them all listed as Various so no point really.

are there any mirrors? I am in a slight rush here. My ma is getting remarried, and she just asked me to handle the music end of it. I wanted to slap out a jukebox with a 12" touchscreen and other parts I gave laying around. My MP3s are a mess, with them organized into folders by genre, then just files with artist and track. Need to see how much organizing I need to do as well as build the cab and come as close to finishing it as I can within 2.5 weeks. I still have to rip a couple hundred CD's as well so I am kinda crunched for time!

Was these private downloads due to the bandwitch limits (not the forum)?

Thanks i will upload it tonight. The site is down because of the bandwidth limits yes, it was the private version downloads and also the fact i had that forum signature on the site. Hopefully it will now all be resolved.

On the main page it still shows 2.1.13, however its a bit hard to update to the newest release when the site was well down temporarily.

is it possible to do karaoke with this software? either adding software or what not?

Also, do you need a second screen? or will it work over the screen with freebox 3.0?

It will play MP3+G karaoke files, you can have them on the main screen or a second screen.
