Karateka Arcade Cabinet Shape Ideas
« on: April 27, 2014, 08:52:41 pm »
Now I know Karateka was never ported to the arcade but I thought it would be a cool idea to make a dedicated Karateka arcade cabinet.  My only issue as of right now is what shape to make the cabinet itself.  Looking at other Broderbund games I found Lode Runner.  I liked the shape.  I just wondered if anyone had any other ideas of what cabinet shapes I should use.

I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

You could make its front a cutout shape based on the side-art of a high kick...

Heh, that'll look funny from the side when you see someone's hands furiously moving in the artwork's crotch.

Lol. Karateka, god I loved that game. I remember the 1st time I got to the end, past that damn bird. I tried to slow to walk in front of the girl, and bamn, she killed me. The ---smurfette--- killed me.

Time to break out the old C64 again.

Larrys junk would be the joystick and I could place two buttons right underneath the joystick.  The possibilities are endless.

Man I hated that. You would assume she knew the guy was rescuing her - in fact, you would assume that she KNEW THE GUY that was rescuing her, considernig the make-out scene at the end.

IIRC - you had to bow first, right?  The game taught you manners.

EDIT:  I looked it up
