They're the same (+/- 1mm). I checked when I designed NephRings.

Excellent, 'bout time someone put out a universal plate.
I'd be interested in getting a few.
What are you guys thinking for perks for those who pledge, if the KS happens? Store discounts? Bundle a joystick of your choice with it?

Neph, I'm a slacker... actually I'm not a slacker I was just way over committed, doing some laser time this week, I will be in touch :)

Almost a selfish reason... I have a lot of Dynamos I want to put Sanwa's in...

Not something that I need, but someone might find this useful.   :dunno

Would it be possible to make plates to "straighten" angled P3 and P4 joysticks?

Joystick (gray) connects to plate with flat-head screws and nuts. (red)

The original angled stick hardware passes through the curved slots (black) which allow you to adjust the angle of the joystick base before tightening the original hardware.

Is overall size the same size as a standard happ/IL "base plate"?
If so, probably a lot of potential sales to those with x-arcade control panels and I'd mention that in the marketing.

If it's oversized at all though, it won't fit in the pocket routed out on those CPS.

It's all yours -- wasn't paying much attention to the other thread, but the discussion of angled sticks there is what made me think up this design.   ;D

Not sure if this is a case of "great minds think alike" or "all effluvia go down the same tube."   :laugh2:

This is a great idea. I've had situations where I was forced to make adapter plates for putting zippyys in where happs once were.
my plates looked like crap. this is a nice solution here. Good luck, I hope they do well

Cool. I'll be in for the 2-unit pledge. Maybe more.
What's shipping to The great white north going to run me?

You should post this on SRK, KLOV and the Shmups forum if you haven't already.

We don't really have a presence on Schmups, but the others are covered
We can probably do 1st class for a good deal, right now it's set to 10 dollars for outside the US, but that's assuming Europe etc... I may add a Canada category.

Someone asked about Crown series joysticks on SRK:
303FK (I have not tested with the others, but I believe the center plastic riser is too large for the center cut out.

We have 6 prototypes that I spray painted black.  Kickstarter really encourages prototypes.

Its a small added cost but we did not budget for this and thought it would be fun to do if we could get the support.  Thank you everyone for contributing!

Unbelievable, 2 days and 10% over funding!
At this point we have 185 dollars until the stretch goal of Xarcade compatible plates are done also.  If we get to this goal everyone pledging will have a choice of Xarcade compatible or slightly larger Universal plate.  Finally mount a Sanwa or Seimitsu easily in your Xarcade stick!

X-arcade compatible plates are now an option, if you pledged you can chose these or the standard that we started with.  If we get to the next stretch there will be even more choices!

I am going to draw up some S plates over the weekend so we can add those on if the next stretch goal is hit.
Thank you again!

I think you'll get a boost from people who wanted x-arcade plates, but wanted to make sure they were guaranteed to be available first.

For the S-plates, the big thing would be having a deeper mounting depth than the standard s-plates.
Those only net you about 1/8" more thickness in the material the joystick is being bolted to.

Great thoughts!

Just to be clear if you pledge for 2 plates you can get 2 X-arcade compatible plates!!!!! (and yes I have tested the design in my X-arcade stick.

I'm trying to get X-arcade to give us the go ahead to make them more official, but until then they will just be "compatible"

If this whole thing works we'll start looking at some ways to have fun with adapter plates.  Right now we will probably just stick to standard shapes, but I love to have fun :)

Sorry for the double post... I am really tempted to do a "Q-bert" stick mount.
I'm also looking at doing an adapter for joust and some Williams games.
Not something that I need, but someone might find this useful.   :dunno

Only two more days... I can't get a firm commitment on the S-plates, but we have 4 plates to choose from!!!
Original Universal Plates
X-arcade Compatible Universal Plates
Skinny Plates
Ms. Pacman Plates

Plus we added Williams two way joystick holes to the skinny plate, allowing you to replace joysticks on old games like Joust, Defender and Stargate!
