That is fantastically gorgeous side-art. I'm thinking this build is going to look fantastic. As someone whose favourite game used to be Paperboy, I'm rather jealous indeed.

I love it, but for some reason, my eye keeps going to the "O" in Paperboy. Seems like a lot of black in the center. Look at the space between the 2nd P and the E. It's not completely filled in. Would it look wierd adding some blue to the O to give it a better sense of 3D? Minor, I know, but it's jumping out at me.

Other than that, it looks great. Can't wait to see it on the side of the cab.

yeah I see what you mean, it's one of those weird things where it's exactly the same as the original, but as soon as you move it to a different surrounding it looks a little odd.

So here's where I think I am going with the bezel. As the player's stance is actually behind a set of handlebars, I figured it would make sense to have the bezel art look as if you were looking down the street from your bike. Newspapers in your basket in the foreground and then on down the road ahead. Obviously the game didn't show the right side of the street so I'm going to have to take some artistic license there, but I think this may work out well. It's going to be a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- tonne of work recreating all the street details in vector, but I think the outcome could be pretty sweet.

I still like the papers in the basket look.  Maybe just go with green ground and blue horizon.  Keep it simple.

The last 2 are too redundant with the rest of the design.

 I like the first one with the papers, the 2nd I just dont like the other graphics you put with it.

You want simple, just do an open newspaper with the screen as the body, maybe looking like its busting through the newspaper...

Yep still plenty to think about for the bezel.

Got back to basics tonight cleaning up the PSU. Managed to remove the stickers safely with a hairdryer heating the metal from underneath.

I'll throw this out there, Griff- you have the same paperboy graphic on both sides and the control panel. If you put him on the bezel, that's 4 times.

Still liking this so far, tidied it up a bit more and added some details. One of the main reasons I like this is that I can get the 'Exclusive Edition' name into the cab in a very natural way that will sit nicely under the main PaperBoy title in the Marquee

Yeah man you are right, it was a fun experiment but its pretty messy expensive and mostly useless lol. I'm going to return the power supply and use the money for an old toaster oven from CL for my powder coating.

Also found a local guy to nickel coat the handlebars, said he'd do it for about $70

For powder coating you need to heat your material being coated to 350f-400f. You heat it up, coat it and then bake it for about 15-20 mins

I had to look this up because I had only heard of applying powder coat electrostatically...

Another method of applying powder coating, called the fluidized bed method, is by heating the substrate and then dipping it into an aerated, powder-filled bed. The powder sticks and melts to the hot object. Further heating is usually required to finish curing the coating. This method is generally used when the desired thickness of coating is to exceed 300 micrometres. This is how most dishwasher racks are coated.

All I could find about heating up before coating. Am I missing something here, Griff?

No I'm just playing with ideas, I may release a set of bezels with this for people to choose from as they seem to come down very much to personal taste, even more so than the side art, which makes sense as they are right in your field of view
