« on: May 14, 2011, 12:09:21 pm »
How can i wire this so that both will work at the same time..

As soon as i hook up the coin door switches the button stops functioning..

no need to make it work at the SAME TIME, just one at a time will do...

You need to make sure its wired in parallel and making sure it's connected to NO and GND on the switches.

I have the GNDS on the buttons and coin door switches all connected to common gnd on the ipac.
NO coin switch 1 / button 1 to player 1 coin on ipac
NO coin switch 2 / button 2 to player 2 coin on ipac.

When wired like this only the coin door switches are functional the buttons are not

For all intensive purposes this is what i currently have configured..
Switch1/2 are wired to the ipac at the same time and come out in parrallel.  and the gnds are daisy chained to the common daisy chain..
i am going to strip the wires back a bit more and see what happens with it if i try it exactly as you have drawn

You only need 1 GND and daisy chain it to all that needs GND.

Make sure the Buttons/Switches are in working order.

Everything going to one ground is probably better than two, but it still should have worked as wired.  It looks to me like the wires could be connected to the NC terminals on at least one of the coin door switches, instead of the NO.  If this is true, it would have the effect of locking out the other buttons connected to that input.

Let me dig deeper and see if i can see what the terminals on he switches are.

Maybe one of the switches is different than the other one..

The buttons work perfectly on thier own.

All the grounds daisy chain.. I was just trying a second one as another potential fix.

On my coin door switches they were different. The NO was swapped, though the ground was at the same spot it normally is. Took me a few minutes to figure that out as it was causing all kinds of wonky problems with my FE Maximus Arcade.

Thats the exact problem I was having the NO and NC were swapped in comparison to all of my other switches.. I didn't even think to look at that until Randy mentioned it .. Got down there with a flash light and sure enough..

Changed em around and everything is working as expected now
