Loadman if the new gif animations shall be of any interest on the layouts then there should be at least 4 or possible more (besides the original video box).
I want to use it to spice up my layouts with more gif animations. One animation possibility is simply to little to make any difference if used for small gif animations. If used for video screen I can see that one extra is more than enough.
In properties there should be a tick box called 'original size of chosen picture/gif' so that the chosen gif animation appears as clear as possible.
I hope this can be included in the next minor upgrade. A few gif animations (not many, since this looks disturbing on the eyes), will beef up the layouts a great deal).
I want my Phønix bird to move its wings, my pacman to eat and possible Pingo to walk on the spot wile pushing the block in front of him. (See attach)

Well if you are clever you could combine all those elements together in one gif/video
Anyway. There is no easy way to add more gif windows at the moment.
I am not ruling it out but not any time soon.
As I ask in the first post in this thread please start a new thread for feature requests so I have some chance of keeping track of them.. Thanks
This will be the last post in this tread from me since i needed your quote for things to make sense!
It's sad news that it's not easy for you to make some more video/gif windows. I do know that I can make a big animated banner but with all these things moving it will be a nightmare gif, and I'm also thinking on future layout makers.
Is it not much more easy to let the video windows be for just video, and then make 4 or more gif windows? I could imagine this way of handling the issue but my programming skills are basic. If this was possible then it would bring whole new life into the Mala layout looks.
The appearance / layout of frontends have allways been what attracted people (and then for many of us also flexiblity in the frontend editor and the main program)
Look at the Hyperspin Front. It was so over-hyped even before it worked. But it's really not very good, at least not for anyone who has a big setup, and for someone who wants flexibility. I'm sure it's fine if you have a few hundred games, and don't want to bother with graphics's yourself (But that's half the sport (making your own graphics).
Comming back to the gif's, the subject of this post: Do you think you could do some gif-only windows. It would be wunderbare!, as they as they say in Germany. And, maybe it's easy to implement. I don't know how the layout code is put together but making room for gif's are possible not more complicated than making room for a png or jpeg picture. But maybe I'm wrong?
Cheers
