Urgent Help Required
« on: August 12, 2010, 07:10:01 pm »
Hi I need some help. I built a cocktail table with a 60 in 1 gameboard and was experiencing buzzing in the speaker, I purchased another speaker and it cured the buzzing now after 1 month the buzzing started once again after I sold the machine today. I replaced yet another speaker the buzzing still continues. I tried to use another two power supplys none will turn on once connected to the board? once I re-connect the old power supply the game board boots and loud buzzing returns!

I contacted Gremlin Solutions about this tonight to see if this must be a faulty game board! If I connect powered speakers it works perfect but the person that bought the machine does not want speakers in the bottom of the cab but a proper working arcade type speaker! I can not see how for 4 weeks it works perfect and today the buzzing returning and no other psu seems to work the machine. All psu's was checked and once connected they wouldnt work

Any ideas asap would be most appreciated.

Cheers
Darren

I assumed you checked to make sure it was grounded properly
Also check the harness connector, and the molex break connector if there is one, sometimes a loose pin can cause problems

As for the other ps's not booting the multi baord, it is most likely a voltage issue

I read before that the multi's are sensitive to voltage variations, I can't remember what the min was, check the 5 volts with a meter and adjust up and down and try again.

Did you jumper the pin on the main harness to get the ATX supply to turn on? Green wire to ground pin 14 on a 20 pin connector.

try a Ground Loop Isolator.
Check local Radio Shack.
It might be the fix it needed.
