.

Introducing the revolutionary new CLASSXTM Arcade Pushbutton by GroovyGameGear.  A year in the making and designed by us from the ground up to be the ultimate in comfort, performance and versatility, the CLASSX pushbutton offers features never before seen on any pushbuttons to date.

Features:

  • Smooth, Precise Operation - No gaps between the plunger and the switch actuator provides fast, positive action.
  • Unique 2-piece design - Universal switch holder accepts Standard Micros, Micro-Leaf-style and even True Leaf switches!
  • Twist and Click switch assembly attachment allows for simpler installations.  Wire switches outside the panel and simply snap them into place.
  • Improved Fingertip Retention -  The CLASSXTM CONCAVE pushbutton strikes a perfect compromise between the early leaf buttons and the modern, flatter style.
  • Better Light Distribution (Illuminated versions only) -  Redesigned plunger geometry allows more light to reach the bezel for better overall illumination.
  • Improved Appearance - The CLASSXTM pushbutton sits slightly higher and sports a more rounded bezel to enhance the overall control panel appearance.
  • Super Durable Materials - With basic care, the CLASSXTM pushbutton is designed to last a lifetime.
  • Groovy Micro Standard - The standard microswitch shipped with the CLASSXTM pushbutton is the new Groovy Micro.  The smoothest, lightest action pushbutton switch ever offered, and made especially to our demanding specifications.

The CLASSXTM pushbutton design will be the standard design for all of GroovyGameGear's higher end pushbutton offerings.  We will shortly be stocking several different colors for the NovaGem line, and plans are to offer some new styles down the road a bit.

Thanks for looking, and once again a big thank you to everyone who supports GroovyGameGear with their purchases.  This was a very expensive project that couldn't have been done without you.  I hope everyone enjoys having the new option available.

I need a couple of days to get the site switched over and fill the back orders on the EI buttons.  Those folks will get them first, and then they will be available to everyone else.

It looks good!  Do you have pictures of how the LEDs mount?
Also, any comment on price?

The LED PCB slides in from one side of the switch holder and is locked into place once the assembly is attached to the button.  No more press fit, so removal is much easier than before.

I worked hard to keep the pricing consistent with the way it is currently.  I need to go back over my numbers once more to be certain, but I think I can keep it the same.

I am waiting for the color samples right now.  If they look good (I expect them to, based on samples of pinball parts from the same material) then they should go into production very shortly after.  If I were to guess, I would estimate 3 weeks max, but hopefully sooner.

Any idea yet on what will replace the current Green Novagems? I think I just bought your last few...

Curious as I would like to purchase replacements down the road if its a better product than the current greens.

Are these going to be offered in the full line of solid, non-translucent colors? I don't care about lighting them, I just like the ability to use the different switches.

I am doing my best to improve the "green" situation.  The IL green is muddy and somewhat unattractive.  The samples I have are better, but still a little too dark for my taste.  I may have to delay the green until I can get a custom color developed, but I'll know more in a few days when the samples arrive.

I don't want to talk too much about future plans, but I do expect to have that one covered.

Awesome news Randy. I do agree that standard buttons with these fittings would be great as well.

Either way the year of R&D is appreciated and Ill likely by a set of these to test out and keep for the future!

I have been debating on what kind of buttons to use on my new pincab build...  I think these with the leaf switches will do quite nicely.  I need something to do with the LedWiz that I purchased on accident recently.

I know everyone is gaga over lighted buttons, but I personally prefer standard colored ones.  Are you planning on making these in standard non-translucent buttons at some point?  I'm not looking to change my setup ATM, but if I'm ever allowed to build another project I'd definitely look at these as the best option!

Whew, $8 apiece with True Leafs and RGB's. Looks like I'll need to break open the piggy bank for my CP!  ;D Worth every penny.

18 buttons @ $8 = 144!

I see on the site it says 323 units in stock. Don't have the cash to get some right now, will you be making more of these? Because with the EI1 I was ready to buy them only after they went out of stock!  :o Great looking buttons by the way

Also, now you offer some more switch choices. Can you explain them in more detail?

I'm only using 4-5 per CP, but the buttons did take a 44% jump in price over the EI(1).

Not true.   There is only 50cents difference per button attributable to the higher cost, and much, much nicer microswitch and nut that is included standard.  The EI 1 buttons were microswitch optional.

It's only about 8% increase for a much better button.

Thanks for the clarification.  I was comparing $2.25 to $3.25 (44%), but did not notice that the old ones were w/o the microswitch.
The True Leaf for +$1 is very interesting & tempting...
Likely to be very popular if you get the buttons in solid colors.

Jury is still out for me whether I want to light my buttons or not.  I'm really interested in the flexibility this new button would give trying different switches.  It would be nice to have a solid color option as well.

I purchased the new buttons with the rgb drivers and some ledwiz controllers yesterday.  I only ordered the standard switches (not the leafs).  I plan to do a write up with pics and vids.  I'm going to be replacing the standard buttons on my cab with these.  I will keep others posted.

does someone know a good post explaining the 3 different switches (cons vs benefits?)

can I really tell the difference when playing a game like say... xmen vs street fighter?
