How do I make pacman look good?
« on: February 22, 2009, 12:55:40 pm »
I cannot figure out how to properly configure pacman or similar games to look good on my tv in mame. Mame stretches it out and it looks super ugly. I've tried enabling bezels, changing the aspect ration (from video options while in the game) and nothing seems to change.

Is there anything special I need to do so it looks original even if it means I waste a lot of screen space?

Type of monitor and Mame options you're running?

For Pacman, probably the best you're going to do on a TV is running 640x480 with hardware stretch turned on.

turn the monitor vertically, that would be the BEST way to play ALL VERTICAL games.

I finally got it to work. I'm not sure exactly what the issue is but I had to go into mame32 and configure mame how I wanted and save. Once back into mala the settings stuck.

So for whatever reason malas mame settings do nothing.
