Tarckball sensitivity settings within Mame
« on: October 26, 2005, 08:02:19 am »
I've been have lots of fun playing Centipede and Millipede lately on my cabinet with the trackball. Classics that I missed out on as a youth really.

But I can't help feeling that the settings within Mame are not set as close as they could be to the arcade original. I do have trouble moving up and down fast enough with the trackball and I can't help feeling that it's the fault of the settings. Side to side movement seems ok though, but I don't know how faithful to the original the settings actually are.

Is there any info anywhere for getting certain games as close as possible to arcade perfect responses? It's a lot to ask for all trackball and spinner games, but I'm sure some of you have tweaked your favourites to perfection.

this was always a hard one to answer for the reasons like, some uses encoders(different ones), some direct connection to serial/ps2, different PC/MACS, and MAME PORTS and really it all boils down to the PERSONAL PREFERENCES. Just adjust it to your liking/feeling the way you might have remembered how the original played.
