Mame 2nd player not responding
« on: June 01, 2005, 09:33:13 am »
Hey. I have an I-Pac4 encoder and am using MamePlus as my emulator. My player 1 works fine in all games, but I am having problems with player 2. Mameplus is not recognizing any controls including coin 2, start 2, all arrows and buttons. The ipac4 is programmed right because I can test it in notepad and also the keyboard test utility that comes with the ipac programming software. The game key settings are correct in both the global key settings menu and also the game-specific key settings menu. I could not play with the second player in a multiple of games. Has anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions as to where to look or what to try?

if you set it up at either the GLOBAL or Game specific, and it registers correctly then you should have no problem. The only thing that i could think of is that you might be mistakenly taking how the games works. Lets say PACMAN for instance, even thou you setup the second player controls, its not going to use the second player control, it will only use the ONE player controls for both players. Alot of alternating game does this. Now if it don't work on a 2 player simutamously like a Neogeo fighting game (kof97), then you have problems, but then again you said it registers when you set it up in the Game sepecific section.
