Recmmand a frontend for Dmame(pure Dos) and PC Monitor

It's not quite ready yet (see the recent posts), but it's getting very close. At the moment, I can get the DOS version to work from the Windows98 Command Prompt, but not pure DOS. Keep in mind that this is the very first beta of the DOS version, so there was bound to be some issues.

Give the Windows version a try and see how you like it- I was amazed how far PacManFan has taken it.

WTF?!

What I'm saying is, DOS Kymaera is your only option- it does exactly what you want it to do. But you'll have to wait a couple of weeks for the Beta release to be ironed out.

If you don't want to wait, use ArcadeOS or GameLauncher, which are nothing like MameWah, but do work fine from DOS.

when Kymeara will be officially anounce as a complete
dos version then i will use it.

I also am totally new to advmame / advmenu. Can you help out some more with the info you provided. I have seen this in one of the files included with the advance sets, however I am unsure if I am supposed to cut and paste that into advmame.rc or leave it where it is or comment out the not wanted resolutions or what?
I am having a very hard time getting anything up and running when I boot into DOS.
Any help is greatly appreciated,

copy and paste them to Advmame.rc. Those files are examples that you can use but it need to be in the advmame.rc.
When you finish copy/paste, run advv -advmamev and check/adjust each one or remove that don't work. When all said and done, press F2 to save it.

it's been my experience (ran advmame and menu for years, and still do on one cabinet) that you can't always just port over settings, because of possible differences in videocards from one machine to another...Maybe this was more of an odd experience than the norm.

Anyway LasVegas use to have a helpful site on setting up Advmame (same things can be done for advmenu)  "Purple Mame Page"?? was the name i think.. I'll see if i can still find that link and post it...Might Help

Thanx for the info TheNasty. that got it going but the resolutions seem to be pretty scummy. (eg vga_360x400 etc)....But it did get advmame and advmenu up after a lot of stuffing around. but I don't think I will stick with it.
