I have zero interest in any sport other than MMA, but, your CP falls into one of the top 5 coolest CP's I have ever seen. I love the art, I love the plexi overlay, I love the button inserts, I love....whoops, little too much love going on. But seriously, Cowboys fans everywhere are drooling.
Has your buddy seen any of the cab yet, or is it going to be a surprise when it is finished? Cause if it is a surprise, stand behind him in case he faints
I showed him a few shots but not the finished CP. He's having back surgery, so when he see it he will be high, so i'm not expecting to much of a hurrah on the unveiling.
I'm surprised he went with a mini. Knowing Texans/Cowboy fans, I figured he'd want one twice the normal size.
From a craftsmanship standpoint, good job. How much input did you have in the aesthetics/design area?
LOL, this is just as you said, the mini, I'm building a full size for him too for next year. This one was just to take the edge off until the beast arrives.
The actual frame design is mine, just a bartop extended. I basically just tossed some ideas together and he blessed them, he wanted it unique, with heavy bling, and thick with the Shrine logo, hence the 15 times you pointed out.
He wanted minimal black on the thing, but i refused to try and paint the coin door, for chipping and possibly looking like crap. So I had to go and find white melamine, and paint the darn marquee holders gray. The more i thought about i should of painted the bezel gray, but oh well. I was also thinking about having the printer print a bezel overlay, but figured it would get too busy.
The football field, i fell into, the CP looked boring so i threw some things in Photoshop, and he really liked the field. Due to the resolution, I have to redo all hash marks, and the numbers to make em sharp, added a new field logo and redid the endzones. Now that it's put together, it really look like 2 teams on a football field, that was unexpected.
So it was a dual effort, i gave rough ideas and he fine tuned based on what looked good to him.
Wow, dude, I love it. Very clean.
Coming from you man, i fee like i've actually built something damn good.

I like it!! Very oldschool and clean at the same time. I would love to play Tecmo bowl on that..
Thanks Vigo....appreciate the comments.
The only thing I don't care for (besides the theme
) is the repetition of the "Cowboys Shrine" logo 15 times on the machine, especially on the buttons. Nice job there on the whole.
I agree bro, i actually removed a few extras, to get it where it is now. The buttons are subtle, and will be lit, so you won't pay too much attention to the shrine logo. If you saw this guys pad you would see why its heavy in the shrine logo.
He had a slot machine built, and had the guy redo the reels, in dallas cowboy players and cheerleaders and stars. He's also building a pinball machine, and giving that guy hell with the design.
Regardless of the theme fellas, i have to say this thing is pretty darn sharp, and i haven't even pulled the coating off the graphics and the chrome t-molding yet. Hell I'm getting anxious to see it all lit up and uncovered.
Thanks for all the comments, you guys see anything that could be modified or changed for the better, please speak up....I have a Nov 26th deadline
