White Bartop Construction for a change
« on: March 07, 2013, 01:51:10 pm »
Here is another bartop construction using white melamine coated mdf instead of the black coated mdf that I always use.

Specs:  Mini Itx Intel D525mw 2GB ram 320 GB HD
8 way joystick, 6 player buttons 2 pinball buttons
Zero delay encoder all 12 buttons used.
The pinball buttons are paralleled to player buttons 5 and 6 which are set for flippers
19 inch HD profile LCD monitor (because I had a few around and 4:5 are getting harder to find in good shape.)

Looks great BobA.
What size are the speaker holes above the screen?
Are you putting speaker grills or leaving them bare.

The speaker holes are about 2 inches x 3 inches.  The original grill cloth for the speaker is fastened inside the hole before the speaker is mounted.

Thanks for the comments guys. What newer bartop profiles would you recommend.   It is going to be spring here in a month or 2 so I have to be ready to get cutting.

I would like to keep producing this design as it is very easy not but something new is always appreciated.

Maybe modify this design....

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,123039.0.html

I was thinking of modifying this, bring the controls to the side, with the monitor at like a 30 to 45 degree angle...

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,128666.0.html

Then theres here

http://bartoparcade.katorlegaz.com/

And finally, google "arcade bartop profiles" select images and you'll be in heaven....

good luck....

If looking for a challenge -- perhaps something similar to Ond's Xenolix bartop -- ( http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,128362.msg1313383.html#msg1313383 )

Xenolix has style.  Might be a tad tight to work inside but it looks sharp.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.   Love the little ms pacman cocktail design but looking for an upright screen.

The Kator Legaz plans have been around forever and are really dated now.

Very nice build ! The white melamine coated option is also the one I chose for mine.

As for new designs, not bad to look at older cabinets and picture them cut in half.

A few ideas here :
