Galactix Game using Projector
« on: August 20, 2012, 06:10:08 pm »
Here is a game I saw at Ocean City Maryland @ Playland. A Game that uses a projector for the images.

I think a MAME cab with a projector like this would be cool. You don't need to rotate the monitor for Vertical Games and back..... (just a thought).

Cool.  I dig that design.  Wouldn't take much of a projector to handle that.

I'd like to see it done w/out the topper and the projector underneath.  Still cool design, I'll make sure and give it a play if I come across one.

Game selection to really make use of that round playfield design is somewhat limited isn't it?

Id say it be simple to make one that used a Pico Projector under the table but you need a game to play with it which is the issue.

I have used the pico projector for a few arcade related things to mess around with and the only thing that was really fun was having the projector above the table and shine down super sprint and used a wireless spinner control to play it it kinda felt like you were controlling micro machines with the controller cause you could move around the table.

The issue is for games like this you need multi touch which isn't hard but it's an issue trying to find games that uses this approach.
I was originally trying to find a top down mini golf game and have it display the putt putt courses on the ground and use a putter with a coloured head that a cam picked up and would move the mouse so when the head hit the ball projected on the ground it would bounce but again the main issue was trying to find software that allows that method.
