HI EVERYBODY!!
« on: April 25, 2012, 04:48:45 pm »
I'm not sure the last time I logged on here, but I bet it was over 5 years ago! Last time I checked, I was still a top 3 poster. Now, I suppose I'm not even in the top 20. For those that don't know me, I first joined this board nearly 10 years ago. I have no idea what's gone on since the last time I was here. Have they finally figured out a good USB gun system? Is MAME finally multi-threaded?

When I first joined the site, I was still an undergrad in college. Now I'm in my 30's! In the time since I last logged on here, I bought a house and got married. The arcade machine collection is down to just one, but it's a good one - solid oak Pac replica cocktail cabinet playing vertical classics. The other 7 or 8 were mostly just half-finished projects that I never had time for and they were taking up space in the garage. I really miss my Killer Instinct, though. It was my first and favorite machine. :-(

Between a full-time job, grad school and married life, I don't have the time or money to BYOAC anymore, but I was feeling a little nostalgic today so I figured I would stop by and say hello!  Sooo... HELLO! :-) I'm very envious of you all witht he time and money to pursue your hobbies while I'm stuck with marketing and finance classes.

... and for those of you who are curious (and those of you who aren't), this site doesn't seem to have changed a bit since the day I joined.

Hey Alan -- Welcome back!

Congrats on the nuptuals.

Not much to report -- that Galaga board I got from you is still running strong and, other than a few freaks, the place is pretty much as you left it.

Glad to still see to some faces I recognize, and I'm particularly glad to see that Galaga PCB still going strong! I was never able to sell the full set of repro Galaga artwork that went with it. I think it's in my brother's garage right now.

Maybe a few years from now, if we're upgrading our house, I can convince my wife that we need to upgrade the game room. The cocktail cabinet is classy, but I've got fighting game fever and the only cure is more Killer Instinct.  >:D

shmokes and CheffoJeffo, got any links or pics for your newest projects? I was just peaking at the ultimarc website, and they have a ton of products that didn't exist a few years ago. It's a slippery slope...

@Thenasty: I guess I missed it, but I caught up with some threads in the main forum. That guy was such a tool bag. Glad he's getting what he deserves.
