I would by the real gun with i/o hardware any time if it worked with USB. Would be awesome!
Dammit. One should know somebody with new arcade games to thest on a pc-based MAME cab directly.
i dont think they have reinvented the wheel either. Would be so neat
I was thinking the same. With all the arcade collectors on forums like this, surely one person has a PC based gun game they could try with mame for us...
There is a good number of them that use USB I/O boards. So far, the only one I know of that anyone here has tried with mame is the America's army USB2GUN board. We know that one works with mame so why not some of the others?
The USB2GUN boards are sold out and impossible to get these days but the Target Terror and Big Buck Hunter I/O boards are USB and plentiful on eBay.
For people that don't use a CRT there are plenty of arcade USB IR gun that have not been tried yet. Terminator Salvation and Big Buck Hunter HD, for example, both use USB guns.
Even if those games required special drivers, surely the code for such drivers would be on the recovery discs for this games...
