X box 360 Control panel?
« on: August 30, 2009, 06:54:26 pm »
So I am trying to hook my X360 controller to my mame Cab. What I would like to do is play all x360 games on my cab if I chose to. But the main problem is incarcerating the right analog stick onto a Control panel?

This is not an issue for fighting games but it seems as if all other games require it.

Has anyone come up with a control panel design that works for this?

I was almost half thinking of incorporating the actual analog stick from the xbox controller, have that sticking out on the bottom of my arcade buttons. That way I can keep my thumb on the small analog stick and click the arcade buttons at the same time.

I would like to think that there is something else out there that is more clever though.

i used sf4 te fightsticks which let you switch the stick to either the right or left analog or the digital pad.  if that's all you need, the ability to switch between the sticks then it's an easy route.  if you need to be able to use 2 or more sticks at once then you'll need some sort of controller hack.

I have a thread on a similar subject and have some information and parts but haven't gone any further yet (couple of other projects to finish first)

I have a controller hack. I just don’t know a good way to incorporate it onto a control panel so that it is usable. I don’t see any good examples out there either.

I know Quasimoto is already doing it on their panels and arcade installations:

I know this one has a PS2 logo on it, but I their other cabs have xboxes in them:

Quasimoto ..... That is what I am talking about. Do they sell those little analog sticks somewhere? Can they be hooked up to a hacked 360 controller? I guess those are the only 2 questions now.

I did discover with the max shooter you can program your I-Pac buttons to work with the x360.

Which means if I  buy that small thumb stick I can hook it up the the IPAC and program it with the rest of my buttons. This is starting to get more interesting.

LOL I was just looking at Quasimoto web site http://www.quasimoto.com/accessories-for-home It looks like they are using 2 MAX Shooters for their controls.

but can you hook an analog stick up to a max shooter or ax xfps?
We might be able to set a U360 to mouse mode and plug it into the usb and hope it saw it as a mouse
