Fake bezels on games
« on: January 18, 2008, 03:46:42 pm »
Can I remove these?  I'm not sure which part of the file creates these but they cut down on my viewing area and I want to get rid of them.

Anyone know how?

Thanks!

Disable -use_bezels,  and maybe disable -use_backdrops and -use_overlays.  Or delete the file in your artwork folder in mame folder.  Or change -artpath to not point at the artwork folder.

More info on these options in mame's docs folder, config.txt.

Don't know how to disable?  Which build are you using; mameUI was a different UI than mame, and it can be differently between the two.

I'm using MAME32 through AtomicFE. I know I should be using a command line version of MAME but I just got into trying to download and use MAME. Up until now I've just been building the cab! Now it's time for the computer to get set up.
I'm def better at the wood work!

Anyway, I deleted the artwork files and it got rid of the bezels. Thanks!

On another note, all my games display off center about 2 inches to the right. Can I fix this as well?

If you have a regular computer monitor, try adjusting it with the buttons on the front.

If you are using Mame32 the option you were looking for to turn of the bezel is:

Options Menu > Default Game Options > Misc Tab > Artwork Options.
