MultiMAME next version?
« on: January 19, 2008, 01:32:53 pm »
Well I have MultiMAME running well on my cab now.  I was hoping to get AtomicFE working before moving to the next release.  But this morning, I came up with an idea.

Would this be useful?

Add -listinfo and the old -listxml xml format support?  For old frontends?  This should be pretty trivial.

Let me know if anyone would use this (I probably wouldn't personally)

Next.

I was going to create a fake roms option.  This will create a 0 sized file for each rom your setup will run.  This allows you to keep all your MAME roms in one directory for bit torrent purposes and also to keep your other emulators roms seperate... all while allowing those frontends who use the rom directory as the most important piece of info (over -listxml and their own .ini files).

Let me know if these would be useful.  With these two options, I believe I would be able to support all major frontends for the last 8 - 10 years...  I just don't know if anyone is using frontends that old anymore... or would care.
