5V to Optipac from Ipac connected by USB
« on: May 04, 2003, 01:50:19 pm »
I have an Ipac and an Optipac.  I know that the Ipac has a 5V and ground that can be connected to the Optipac.  Has anyone ever connected the Ipac to their computer by USB and then supplied the 5V to the Optipac?  I'm just not sure if the Ipac can get enough power from the USB for both the Ipac and the Optipac.

The reason I am doing this is that I am running Dos with Advance Mame, and I can use USB for the Ipac but not the Optipac.

First time I've seen a USB work under pure DOS. What MOBO do you have ?

USB keyboard under DOS is supported by the "Legacy" feature in the motherboards BIOS.

It is a Shuttle Ak32.  And TheTick is right - I can enable USB Keyboard, and the Ipac can be connected by a USB cable.
