Can we kill the animated avatars. They are just annoying. I have a hard time reading posts when they are on the screen. It's not even the cute girl factor they just bug.

Hmmm..... definitly a personal issue and concern from my point of view.

I should start using my bouncy Snoopy icon then. Ya just can't help but watch the happy little fella.

Go into your Profile settings, then Look and Layout Preferences and set "Don't show user's avatars".

Yeah, what Chris said. Just switch it off. I switched off the signature lines because some of those annoyed me with their large graphics.

Or if you don't want the animations but don't mind avatars in general use Firefox and hit escape when an animation is bothering you, it will stop. Not to mention the other advantages to using Firefox.

Hey, I got something useful from this thread thanks!

In general I like the avatars, for a while my avatar was actually "Avatar" from the movie Wizards, but it didn't seem like most people got the joke.

Most of the animated ones don't bother me, but the ever receding/rotating spider optical illusion is irritating. the flicker just keeps drawing my eye to it, and it is too distracting.

Works in Internet Explorer too. Good tip though.

I laugh everytime I see this avatar. It's the Jack Russel Terrier of avatars. Fun and lively, but too jumpy.
