« on: April 28, 2003, 01:18:16 pm »
Okay I won this ebay auction BUT my cabinet doesn't fit the monitor..it has side speakers >:(.
Its about 29" wide with side speakers so if you are looking for a monitor PM me or email the seller.
virtualdoom@hotmail.com   This is the email of the seller.
He is willing to sell it for ONLY $200 shiped.
Just email the guy if anyone is interested. The monitor comes with a remote too and does 800x600.  :)

Why don't you buy it and make sure it works and take the risk out of it for us, and then I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem selling it here for $200. ;)

What the hell !  ???
I did say it WORKS.
My cabinet won't fit this thats all...he is selling it as WORKING !
Why would I wanna buy this for $200 then resell it again here.
I dont get your comment.  ???
I won the auction knowing it works...I could care less if he doesnt sell the monitor..worse to worse I get a neg feetback.
I just feel bad(kinda) that I bought then didnt pay.I should just paypal him the listing fee maybe. :P

I think Wade was making the assumption that you were going to follow through on your contract to purchase the item.

When you win any auction, you take a risk that the seller is not being honest with you.  He just meant that some of  the people on this board might trust you, but not trust the seller.  You obviously trusted the seller, and the seller trusted you.  So one of two things are true:  either you misunderstood the terms of winning the auction, or we really shouldn't trust you.  I don't take you for a fool, so I guess we just shouldn't trust you.

What you won an auction and are not going to follow through? - no class

In most states winning an auction is a binding contract, not just something u can just change your mind at.

Dead beat bidders is what I hate the most in Ebay, always ask questions BEFORE u bid

Just my coppers worth.

I worked something out and will paypal him $8 listing fee IF no one buys the thing from him.

yeah whatever on everyone's comment..someone bid on my oak cabinet an didnt buy.
I lost what...$32 on that(listing fee).
Then found someone local paid even more then what I was asking for so things worked out.
Oh well !  :P

That seems like a fair thing to do.

yeah whatever on everyone's comment..someone bid on my oak cabinet an didnt buy.  I lost what...$32 on that(listing fee).
That sucks, it appears we've all had experiences that make this a sensitive topic.  I had an auction with a bidder who placed a high bid on the first day of my auction.  He retracted the bid in the last hour and said that the bid was an accident.  His high bid scared everyone else away from the auction for a week, but there was one other low bid on the item.  I had to sell the item a the low price.

Impressive attitude....

"I won the auction, but it won't work for me so I won't buy it, I feel bad(kinda) but I have been screwed over on an auction so it's ok for me to do it as well."

That about sums it up right?

Ya, but at least he offered to pay the listing fees because it was his mistake.
