ms pacman high score not saving, my mame.ini file is attached

I am using mame 113 which has been recompiled and I have the highscore.dat file in the hi folder in the mame folder, any idea why it won't save?  Do I need to use a different version of ms pacman, I am using the master now.

officail MAME don't support hiscore.dat anymore. YOu need to use a unoffical build to use the dat.

I am I had someone recompile it for me.

Anyone?  This is really the whole reason I build my cab.  This is the most important thing for me, I don't know what I am doing wrong.  Unless it wasn't compiled right, anyone wanna compile 113 with all the fancy stuff for me?

It's really not that hard to compile your own, and that way you can be sure it's done correctly.  Just ask questions here, follow the instructions on the Mr Do page (see the highscore.dat sticky in the software forum).

One problem is I have a Mac and my PC is in my cocktail table not that I can't use it but its not the easiest

Just go backward in revisions. I stopped at .99, because I felt they actually started going backward shortly afterward, removing features and slowing emulation.

If I do that what issues might I have by using a 113 ROM set?

Try the games you want to use, you may find they work fine. Perhaps a ROM manager like ClearMAME pro (?) can fix them if you need to roll back.

Well I don't have mine in front of me, but I think the hiscore.dat file goes into the same folder as mame.exe.  The hi folder is where the high scores are saved.  May be wrong, but that's the way I remember doing it after compiling. 

Also by highscore.dat, I assume you meant hiscore.dat.

woohoo, I figured it out.  My mame dir was set to read only

Well, if you run into any other problems, check to see if you have a folder lableled "HI" in your mame directory.
