I'm pretty sure someone brought this up months ago.

I think there were concerns over a person being between the source and receiver.

They forgot to mention that the project took so long because the researchers kept dying inexplicably from brain cancer.  :dunno

This can't be a new invention. Not sure why the news articles are billing it as such.

AM radios work off of the same principle using crystals. Hell I think you can build a simple AM radio using just a pencil and a razor blade. The Japanese have been experimenting with powering Cell phones using crystals. Rumor has it, it works, just not well enough to be marketable to the public.

Also, before his death, story was Tesla was trying to raise money to complete his Wardenclyffe tower which was supposed to have accomplished the same thing on a much larger scale.
