(FIXED) VGA cable problem or bad driver installation? (FIXED)

     I fixed it.  I just redid the VGA breakaway cable I bought off of Ultimarc.  I guess everything wasn't actually touching.  It looks great now.  Thanks to everyone who replied.

     Alright, this is my first MAME project.  Obviously this is also my first time connecting an arcade monitor to my computer.  I have a Wells Gardner 25k7131 120v 60hz 100watt max monitor. 
     I bought the VGA breakaway cable and the ArcadeVGA video card from Ultimarc.  I deleted my previous drivers by running the program Ultimarc suggests, then I booted up windows and ran his drivers.  The drivers appear to be working, but when I plug in the monitor I barely receive a picture.  There was some rolling so I adjusted the V-Hold, V-Pos, H-Hold,...etc.  I still don't receive an image.  If I tug on the VGA breakaway cables and move them around, I can make out my windows desktop, but this image is not very clear and experiences rolling and random bands of color.  (I've also already tried making a composite sync, but this did not seem to help).
     Also, I believe the issue could reside in the VGA breakaway cable.  If I plug the cable into my computer, when the computer is off, I get an image on the monitor.  Could this be a grounding problem within the cable?  Thank You.

Sounds like you need the video amplifier which Andy also sells.

Also, is  monitor a 25khz only? (25k7131)

If it is, that may be your problem as the ArcadeVGA is only for 15khz and 31Khz monitors. Although, that may have change with the new version.

People - myself included, and perhaps because we're thinking that only the new one is available, which apparently is true - aren't saying arcade vga {2}. Research will show it does 15/25/31khz. But it sounds like you need an amp.

I think I'm gonna try to buy Ultimarc's video amp: http://www.ultimarc.com/vidamp.html, because I have to get something else also, but upon reading Ultimarc mentions that Well's Gardner Monitors shouldn't need amps because they can work with 1 or 5 volts.

the AMP is not gonna fix the problem. WG monitor (K7xxx) like to have the V/H separated. I have the k7200 and when I had it setup as composite, it just rolled and rolled and rolled....until I separted the connections.

My cab works fine when connected to the jamma harness with composite sync.  I'm just having problems connecting it to my computer. Again, is it normal for an image to be produced on screen even with the computer off? If I unplug the VGA cable the image disappears.

Also, it more than just rolling.  It's impossible to make out an image unless I tug on the vga cables and move them around.  Even then I can barely make out desktop icons.

its fine now I just had to remake the cable a few times, I think it was a problem with me hooking up / making a composite sync.
