Sounds like you have the wire connected to the normally open contact instead of the normally closed.

Hook it up like this, i guess.  Also make sure the terminals aren't touching either.

What happens if you disconnect the button completely?

If disconnected it should show up as not being pressed at all. If it does show that its still pressed then you have a short in the wiring leading up to the button. If you remove the wiring and it still shows as being pressed then either there is a short on your board like a small metal fell in it, bad solder or worst case the board itself is bad.

thanks for the link

im still trying to figure this thing out.........

I feel weird about it cause i bought the cab only cause it had the mvs + 8 games with it........ & he told me it was 100% fonctional.....

for me a A button problem is like 20% fonctional

How can you play neo geo without A button it's the heart of the thing :)

I dusted the jamma harness + the pcb
see if it helps
i still get the same old problem...
.
Grrrr

Have you tried to contact the seller? I agree that it's not 100%, but should be fixable. Even if it's a short on the PCB it should be fixable, but finding it gets tougher. Disconnect the switch and go from there.

At least with Neo-Geo games you can play most from the 2-player side.
Brevity is not my strong suit.
