SlikStik Forums?
« on: March 01, 2007, 05:14:14 pm »
Just was wondering if anyone here has noticed that the SlikStik forums are down. When you try and access them your get to a page that says "This Account Has Been Suspended" and the text, "Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible". Wonder  if they forgot to pay their hosting company....

Makes you wonder if it's wise to go shopping there. If that's how they treat new customers how will they deal with customers that already paid anyway ...

I already own one of their control panels and cabinets and can vouch for the quality of their stuff....it's just darn difficult to speak with them or get any answers quickly...

They were supposed to be coming out with a DOT spinner already, but no updates since NOV or DEC....although, especially as someone has created an all-purpose driver for the Space Navigator deal I talked about in another thread, I think I'm going to go that route.

It's a same that they are like this....the quality is undeniable, but the service downright sucks.

I ordered parts from Ultimarc and Slikstik at the same time....I got my parts from Andy a whole week before I even heard from Slikstik! And all I ordered was buttons!

I used to go there to save a few bucks when buying buttons and stuff, now I have no qualms paying a couple extra dollars per order to make sure I get my stuff in a timely manor.

Welp,  I can tell you for sure that I will never be one of their customers after reading horror story after horror story about the CUSTOMER SERVICE of the place.  It's funny...everyone says the same thing...quality components,  atrocious customer service.  Welp bucko,  customer service is part of the purchase in my book...if you lack in that area,  I go elsewhere.

Especially with so many QUALITY options with excellent customer support available right now.

That and actually cheaper ones, often, too. There seems to be a real grassroots vendorship and market developing.

When I can order something from Andy who resides across the big pond and 3/4 of the US from me and get it in 7 days or so,  there is something to be said for that...

Couldn't have said it better Frizzle.

Last time I ordered some parts from Andy was on a saturday. Usually I get an email from him with a track number first thing monday morning, but I didn't this time. I shot him an email asking if anything is wrong, and he explained the part I order was on back order and he would get it out ASAP. Well...when someone tells me something is back ordered, I expect a week at least. The next day (Tuesday), I got a track number...and two days later I had the parts on my door step.....from the UK to Seattle, Wa. That guy is absolutely amazing.

Sorry for the long story there....just needed to make my point about how awesome Andy is at serving his customers

Hell,  while we are at it,  I have to give props to Randy at Groovy Game Gear as well.  I have ordered two Turbo Twist 2's from the guy as well as a few other things (at the same time)...it all arrived professionally packaged,  with great communication and in a respectable amount of time.

Tornado Terry is ANOTHER vendor I'd recommend as well...i've ordered from him three times...all transactions smooth...speedy...and with excellent communication.

Geez...come to think of it...I don't think I have had a bad experience from ANY arcade vendor including Bob Roberts (the best!),  Arcadeshop, Zanen Electronics...

The closest I could come to bitching about anything was with one order from Arcadeshop for the smoked plexi for my cocktail.  The corners aren't cut EXACTLY as they should.  Close,  but not exact.  They offered to take the item back paying for shipping and all...I decided to keep it and not be so anal.

PS: Sorry to hijack the thread...just contrasting the quality of service of the rest of the industry to SS...hmm...

ROFLMAO  :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Awhhhhh and I thought it was a secret that I don't rate "SickSlick"

Anyway... who cares if his forum is down. It can't be any worse than the rest of his customer service... That's down 90% of the time.

Mind you, when you have a Daddy like his, that keeps bailing you out of the "poop pile" every time you slip and drop said "poop pile" down your customers necks, what can you really expect.

I just can't fathom why people still try and buy stuff from him, if they're members here. Go figure.......

I have to just eco Frizzles comments about quality vendors..... Thank God we have some!

Best Regards,
Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

Why is that slikstick always listed on Ebay ? Aren't people leaving him negative feed back ?

Also I was wondering why none of the sellers on here ever list on Ebay (or do they) ? Is it just to much BS or what .

I too have have nothing but good luck here dealing with Ponyboy, Andy, Divemaster whoever.

Hell, I would do business with him just cause of the name. Tornado Terry is the best name ever, sans Max Powers

I just wish he'd learn a little more HTML...his site is a mess...but he has kickass prices on trackballs and other equipment.

I was told they were going to be having a special on their Classic control panel that threw in the trackball illumination and pinball buttons....that was 3 weeks ago. I can't get an email response from them....

I won an ebay auction that they ran about 2 weeks ago. Price was the same (499) but the side buttons and illumination were thrown in for free.
I also added a Donkey Kong/Pacman overlay to it.

It's been a bit more than two weeks, but I don't expect the panel before 5 weeks, including the overlay.

I haven't had a problem with their customer service. They responded to my e-mails within 24 hours for each one sent (3 or 4) and I called them directly to discuss adding the overlay to the auction I won.
So far so good. Customer service for me was more than adequate.

I just can't wait to see it, and get my whole cabinet together, which I didn't start yet.

I will post pictures of the control panel with the overlay along with the cabinet when I build it.

A word of warning be VERY careful of sellers on EBay that take your money, but won't send you an item out for 5 week. Pay Pal will only cover your purchase (- $20) If a claim is filed WITHIN 45 DAYS !!

I know :(  What happened to me was I bought a 1400$ transmission on EBay. 900 + Reviews- Called the guy- Everything checks out. It just takes 4 weeks for transmission to be built.

It never come, he says it is on the way. Then I said enough and I went to file a claim and leave negative feedback. Guess who was no longer a registered member...

What happened was the guy made a bad decision and somebody screwed him over and basically stole about $10,000 in transmissions. He was using the money from tomorrows auctions to pay for the parts to build last months auctions, trying to catch up. A few people got pissed, left negative feed back, EBay and Paypal froze his account and
WHAM ! The whole thing came down.
