This is a public forum and all visitors including myself have the right to post their comments

You have a perfect right to post your comments Christian. But maybe you should be considering the impact those comments have on your intended customers BEFORE you go posting them and insulting the entire forum!....  Try sticking to facts and keeping personal feelings out of it if you want to be respected here.

You're a hothead, who spends his time on here insulting his competitors products, insulting all the members of this forum, and then you wonder why people won't recommend your products!!! work it out for yourself!!

It's time that could be better spent actually sorting out your customer service. Which is is why I for one will NEVER buy anything from you.

Regards,
Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

IMO Christian is totally right in his facts. If you add up everything including cost of labor/opportunity cost, I would predict that the SlikStik controllers cost less that what most people on this forum, including myself, would have to spend to build something equivalent.

I don't think people should be flaming him or "taking their business elsewhere" for a somewhat tongue in cheek comment about AYOAC.

Christian reminds me of Howard. Howard is one of the smartest, most well-informed people on this forum and he still irritates the heck out of a lot of people with annoying little comments.
I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

Please read the wiki!

Dang, I was going to place an order with this company too...

I've read enough... I plan on spending my money somewhere else.

I never get tired of reading comments like this.

While he does have a right to say whatever he feels he has to understand that there is no place in buisness for "tounge in cheek" comments such as that.  That's the quickest way to loose customers.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em

And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

No place for comments such as what? You do more assembling than building? This site should be AYOAC? Are those comments really that bad? I am sure there are many people here that would disagree with you.

The more reason not to lock the thread. If you lock it and there is meaningful discussion still occurring your not helping anyone. Lock it when/if it becomes nasty, but there is no reason to lock a thread just because civilized groups of people are having a meaningful debate.

When it's all said and done, people will come out better for it. If you don't like reading it arcadegamenut - just quit reading it.

some of these posters have nothing better to do than hop between bandwagons and build up their post rankings with nonsense.

Dang how stupid of us to disagree with you, who are perfect, and never post irrelevant rubbish like: "this forum should be called AYOC" ????!!

And YOU clearly have nothing better to do than post insults to the community and your competitors.....  Like I said, time that could be better spent dealing with your dreadfull customer service record.

I posted my thoughts way up top of this thread so there is no need to repeat them.
However..
This thread is getting ugly I think, so I feel like pointing out something positive.
No matter what anyone thinks about christian, so far no one has questioned the quality of Slikstiks products so far.
Just pointing out a positive in this spiraling thread.

..and now we return you the your regulaur scheduled program

I'll read it if I want as the original part of the topic was interesting. But nearly the entire second page has been nothing but flames and personal attacks from both sides.

If we could get back to the original topic, then that would be super. If you've seen my thread "In This Corner" on the projects forum, then you know I've been analyzing the costs between three different methods (building, buying slikstick and buying the mameroom package).

Arcadegamenut is right.

Original topic - is the slikstik on ebay from the manufacturers of slikstik?
Answer - Yes!

Slightly off topic - Does slikstik make a quality product?
Answer - Mostly Yes!

Off topic - is Christian from slikstik a bit on the condescending side?
Answer - Yes!

gg. Now lets move on.

Answer - Yes!

Saying Christian is a "bit" condescending is like saying a woman in the delivery room, legs in the stirrups, is a "bit" pregnant.

I would say Christian's condescension is more the "full term" variety. ;)  I'm sure his products are just dandy though.

What with that?

I have never ordered off Slikstick but I have to say reading your comments that if you were the only seller of arcade parts in the world I think I would just do without.

Are you not forgetting that it is people on this forum that helps keep you guys going with orders?

Doubtful - I think a much larger percentage of their sales come from people who discovered arcade cabs on E-bay or MameWorld and followed a link to SlikStik's homepage.  NTTIAWWT . . .

Just kidding - man, let's not go crazy here. Besides, I have to give Christian a few props - I got my lit joystick handles for free...

His products are great, customer service needs improvement, that all I'm saying. Besides, from what everyone that has personally dealt with him is saying, he's a great guy - just flies off the handle in posts.

I think this thread is a victim of the often mistaken "tone" perception - he was ribbing someone who was knocking his products, and I think everyone read too deep into it. Granted, if that was my company, I would be more "politically correct," but that's his show.

Let's let this thread die. It's been commented on for far too long.

This website and forum should be changed to AYOAC = Assemble Your Own Arcade Controls, that would be much better.

whoa.  someone made a comment you didnt like so you attack the whole forum. Sorry but I find that sarcasm pretty offensive and nasty.what kind of public relations is that. This comment really surprises and I expected much more from a respectable vender.

very shocking comment. If I ever look for a pre built controller it will be from somewhere else.
