cp overlay help pls

Right! im  in the middle of designing my cp overlay yes i know its loud but i like it that way  :applaud: and im at the stage where i need a little advice.  (remember this is my first cab and ive went with the project arcade plans so my cp is 34 x 18) and im using gameex as frontend.

1.  as u see ive went for the 6 button option but  ive seen 7 button setups and was wondering what advantage they have over the 6 button setup?

2. also i read recently that using the one player button as the shift key can cause probs for example spawning up at the same time as player 2 etc. should i have a dedicated shift possible on the side near my left fliper.

3. my happ 3" ball will be in the middle and i still cant decide to put mouse buttons in or not will i miss them if i dont also 2 or 3 buttons???

4. My biggest problem is this. On the top bar i have pause and exit  and beside this i was going to put a spinner a ultimarc ball top 4 way and possibly 2 or 3 player one buttons. for the 4 way games( problem one, are dedicated buttons up here desired or will using the normal player one buttons feel just as good) ( problem two i have bought a 4 way ball top AND a happ 4 way trigger top( for tron basicly) and was going to install them both but i have just realised that i will have 2 4-ways very close to each other! i like the ball top MUCH better than the trigertop but the trigger top as i said was for tron :banghead: so hence my dellema

5. Also any other problems i am missing pls point out

1. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=62415.0

2. I would.

3. You will if you go into windows and would like to use the trackball as a mouse. You can set the trackballs buttons as mouse buttons and map them in mame as normal action buttons. So in windows, they act as mouse buttons and in mame they act as action butons.

4. a. Do a test try on a piece of carboard and see how it feels.
